EersSkins05
I like to think of it as the most storied franchise in all of sports getting abused! Ok, this has to be the biggest homer statement I've ever seen... I hate the ****s, but to think that anyone but the Yankees is the most storied franchise in all of sports is ridiculous. The Redskins might not even be the most storied franchise in the NFL, for god's sake. (Packers probably hold that distinction)

(Packers probably hold that distinction) As far as "storied" franchises in the NFL, I'm not sure the Redskins are in the Top Five. The Packers are probably number 1. The Bears and Giants are up there. The Steelers and Cowboys can certainly make an argument. And no team has more "stories" than the Raiders. To be honest, the Redskins' history outside of the first Gibbs era is a combination of "colorful" and "embarassing." It's Sammy Baugh followed by a lot of years of losing while refusing to sign black players. Then there's a year of Lombardi followed by the Over-The-Hill Gang and Richard Nixon calling Super Bowl plays. Then a few more bad years. Then the Glory Years. Then the really bad years followed by The Danny Years.
MoeRedskins
We are. Because we have delusions every single year that this is the year. Other teams don't have the expectations we do. That is true to a certain level, but we do expect a super bowl or bust every year. We might need to lower our expectations a little bit. But I would say it is much worse to be a Lions, Cards, Browns, Jets, Texans, or Seahawks fan. At least we have a history of not sucking total butthole. Streets911
Detroit Lions without a doubt....one playoff win in 50 years! Had arguably the best RB in the history of the game and couldn't do jack! lol
natem985
:applause: :applause: :applause: Seriously, no one can make an argument that the Redskins are more tortured than ANY Cleveland team in the last 50 years. In my lifetime they were on the cusp of titles in 3 different sports and didn't win ANY. Indians- endured losing to the Rent-A-Marlins in their first WS in 50 years Cavs- People forget how talented the Cavs were then- go back and look at how hard Jordan celebrates when he hits that shot in the playoffs... He wouldn't have been going that crazy if it was the Clippers... Browns- endured the single most memorable fumble of all time (that cost them a trip to the SB), allowed the single most memorable drive of all time (they gave these things names for a reason folks,) watched their team leave, and then watched that team win a Super Bowl in a different city. Quit your whining, fellow Skins fans. We don't even begin to understand this kind of pain. Best Post in this Thread. Although I'd say for football, the skins and lions, particularly in the last 10 years, are close. As for the Bengals and Arizona, most years they have no expectations, so theres no hype-machine going on there. This year, the Bengals are great. MJ couldnt save the Wizards, Jagr couldn't save the Capitals, and now JG with the Redskins??? These are icons that have struggled here.
Bad Man Burgendy & Gold
Please lets not cry to bad, it takes more than 14 years after a championship to make a team the most abused, talk to fans like the Cards and Eagles who don't yet have a superbowl
