Thiebear
So if you had a QB for 12 years and he never took you to the Superbowls X-XII he would be considered the greatest? But if you had a couple of QB's for years and 1 took you to a Superbowl and was the MVP? Which QB would you think was better? I like Doug Williams because he reached the pinnacle and snatched the ring out of the air. which does equal the definition of a homer but MY homerism has a ring and MVP.... The reason you can't do the same with Kurt is because others have so many rings and careers... In 12 years you'll say the same thing about Doug. But until then, he's right at the top 3. wskin44
Look you pathetic homers. I know we are all Redskins fans, but there is NO WAY the correct answer is Doug Williams. Warren Moon was ten times the QB Williams was. Look at the freaking career stats. Only one black QB has won a Superbowl.
TheSteve
Only one black QB has won a Superbowl. Using this inane logic Trent Dilfer is a better QB than Dan Marino. All that SB means is that Doug Williams had the better team.
ArmchairRedskin
My vote goes to Warren Moon. His stats are phenomenal, regarless of color. 4th all time in completions, 4th all time in passing yards, and 5th all time TD's. I used to watch Oiler games because of him. They had a fun offense back in yonder days.

No using that logic in 1950 ..Trent would.. Using this logic in 2025.. would be inane..
tlk2rn
^:laugh:For real. Doug Williams was a mediocre QB with one year of glory. Nobody saids that Kurt Warner is the best QB ever despite winning one Super Bowl MVP and having what might have been one of the 3 year stretches for a QB in NFL history. Likewise, Doug Williams shouldn't be in consideration for the best black QB ever. McNabb is already better than Williams ever was. Joe Gibbs system made Williams and all the rest of the Redskins QB's with the possible exception of Thiesmann. For Real. Have you ever heard of receivers by the names of Isaac Hagins and Gordon Jones and Kevin House? I thought not. These are the types of receivers D. Will had for T.B. in the late 70's to the mid 80's. Yet Williams led TB to the NFC title game in 1979, and led them to the playoffs in 81 and 82. I think he was good but not great. But you got to give the man his props for making that comeback and blowing the living crap out of Denver that year. And hey, I do give Warner his props, but at the same time look at that awesome offense he had. Williams had nothing close to what he had and still managed to put up over 3200 yards twice. Thats not bad for a quarterback on a sucky team like T.B.

(Duncan, Slaughter, Jeffries, Givins) they would have won at least one Super Bowl. People forget that Moon was the run-and-shoot.
DeanCollins
I admit, I voted for Williams out of deep love for the man. He gave all that he had that day (SB XXII), took a severe beating by the Denver defence (watch the game again). And as much as I loved Doug Williams, I loathed Randall Cunningham for his ability run and throw, and of course being an Eagle.
RedskinsFan28
1. Warren Moon (SHOULD go to the HOF) 2. Randall Cunningham 3. Doug Williams (at least for the incredible Super Bowl performance)

kappaluvacee
Warren Moon - His numbers don't lie.....He did it for a long period of time and in two different leagues. Warren makes my list among all QB's.....The Run-N-Shoot was proven to be a gimmick Offense that was captained by a superior being Warren Moon. Jim Kelly was also good at executing it, but all others that attempted it failed. I think that speaks volumes about those two fine QB's........ Midnight Judges
I think as Redskins fans we can all agree that it's Doug Williams. :logo: But after that, it's Warren Moon IMO.

PleaseBlitz
I voted for McNabb. Its a shame how he is treated in Philly, both by ****ty fans who dont appreciate him and a cheap front office that gives him no weapons.
Chachie
McNabb. He can do it all run pass and buy sometimes seemingly endless time in the pocket. His int to td ratio is very good and he's never had all the weapons. He played one year with TO, the only time he ever had a legit #1 wide out, and finished with a 100+ QB rating. Otherwise he's had a lack luster running game and a gaggle of wide receivers that would be listed 3rd and lower on most teams. If Vick ever learns how to pass he could be the best. But I doubt he'll be in the league long enough to reach that point. Totally McNabb. Moon was real good, not great. Cunningham could have been the best but it just didn't pan out. The others (even Vick) are all way in back of the pack. It's awesome that only Williams (a Redskin) has won it all. This makes me happy, but not deliriously so. I definitely regard McNabb as the best black QB ever. So far.
deejaydana
How many years did Moon have to put in 'north of the border' before the NFL finally came to its senses? What a shame, the dude wasn't even drafted out of college!
