The Sports Media and Bad Calls....

I wish the sports media would put the pressure on bad calls. Something needs to be done. With millions of fans, we deserve the best. That’s why players and coaches are paid top-dollar to perform. If they don’t perform they are reprimanded or fired. Refs should have to adhere to this same high standard. I think every ref on the field should have their own replay booth to stick their head in. Before two minutes is up they should anonymously vote on the replay in question. Majority wins.

They do, when it happens to teams they like.

They were all over the bad call against the Saints when the Rams scored on a fumble return, that replay showed the guy was down. But because it was before the 2 minute mark, and the Saints out of TO they couldn't get a challemge.

The also were all over the penalty on the Saints that gave the Falcons a week earlier a second FG attempt, and the Falcons made it. The Saints were guilty of the infraction, yet the media cried it was a cheesy call on the last play of the game.

There have been other examples.... but if it is not against a media favorite, it is ignored or they scream for the team to quit whinning etc...

Yeah, ESPN is pretty shameless in its shilling for Tagliabue. On NFL Live, all three guys (Wingo, Salisbury, and Allen) believed that Alstott was short. But instead of indignation, we got "yuk yuk yuk, still don't have a win."
