Mad Mike
I'm not sure if I like that. I would rather we sneek up on people. Then again I don't suppose that is posible with SOS calling the shots.
Reaganaut
We were never going to sneak up on anyone, but teams may start to get intimidated by the Skins. I think Mariucci is intimidated which may explain his comments to Marvin Lewis and other coaches after Osaka. Philly was intimidated enough to pick up two corners in the draft. This is great fun! OrangeSkin
None of those other teams even come close to the 'Skins in terms of excitement. Can you imagine how exciting we'd be if Marty was still here? :puke:

Ford
Teams have us marked in red on their schedule, everyone wants to beat Spurrier ... sneaking up on people isn't really an option
Sarge
Well, since the national media appears to want to jump on the bandwagon, and sneaking up on people no longer appears to be an option, I guess the only thing left to do is beat the crap outta people and run up the score! Wait........we've started doing that already.I guess we still need to put heavy shocks on the wagon though, for when the Fat Man jumps in the back
cowboykilla
I love this personally. If this had have happened in the Norville or Marty era, I would DEFINITELY be reserved. I still am a little bit for that matter. But truth be told, with Spurrier and our D, I dont care how confident I get or how much other teams hate us and are looking out for us, because we will just beat them down when we face them. The one major difference between this team and the last 10 years' teams is execution. Maybe before we had the confidence, but now, we can go out and DO it. Carlito Sway
There's no getting around the fact that casual football fans like to be entertained. The Rams' brand of football is entertaining, and I think they've been great for the game the past few years. I'm inclined to think the 'Skins will steal some of their thunder this season, if only because Martz looks like a putz while Spurrier just looks like a guy people will either love or hate. This should be a wild ride, my friends . . .

bulldog
well, just consider this in regards to how much the Skins may or may not be putting too much into the preseason: 1. The Redskins starting wide receivers, Green and Gardner, have seen little time in the preseason so far. most of the damage has been done by players that will be backups. 2. Stephen Davis likewise has been used sparingly so far. He didn't carry the ball a single time against the 49ers. 3. The Redskins starting defensive line has not suited up and played a single down together yet. 4. Marvin Lewis has not unveiled Arrington and Armstead much as of yet as capable rushmen from the outside. Both players will be prominent in the team's ability to get to the qb and make plays in 2002. 5. The Redskins have not given other teams a consistent look at any one quarterback throwing the ball to a given set of receivers. Everyone has been mixed and matched so much in the first 2 games that little in the way of gameplanning or matching I think can be made by those watching tapes of the Skins play. 6. My gut feeling is the team IS serious about upgrading the offensive line and as with Daryl Gardener, albeit on a lesser scale of talent, the Skins may be able to pick up a guard through trade or free agency that helps to solidify the offensive line the way Dave Szott did last year after signing late. I don't think you are going to see Kipp Vickers and Ross Tucker out there on September 8, that is just a hunch

Potato Sack
I watched the game again last night. I'm excited! You think about it! When was the last time you saw a coach NOT get intimidated and feel like we were completely out of it when a team came back and went up 30 to 23 on us. I watched a COMMMANDING (when was the last time we could say that) Redskins "O" come back onto the field, march down (amidst penalties), and ring up another 7. Then I watched a defensive coordinator, ANIMATED (ANIMATED FOLKS) on the sidelines, motivate a TIRED defense to play with spirit and guts. That got us 7 more from a fatiqued group of players. Those out there who are worried about our D. We're GOING to have games like last night. But, tell me is WASN'T just as exciting to watch as that blow out a couple of weeks ago. No wonder that poll has us at 60%...wait till halfway through the season and take another poll. I have a feeling that number will grow dramatically!
