bubba77
The visor thing is very simple, let me explain. The visor rule was passed several years ago by the NCAA and is very easy to get around, it now has made its way to the NFL and is probably just as easy to get around. In the event of a neck/spine injury during a game you may not move the injured nor remove their helmet. At this time seeing their eyes is very crucial for evaluation of the extent of their injuries. This is why they have told everyone that they may not have tinted visors. Now, the catch! It is almost as simple as going to the optomitrists secratary and saying "I have sensitive eyes and need to wear a tinted visor" and they will give you a written slip saying it is ok. As long as your head team trainer has that slip during pre-game when the league uniform officials are doing their checks all is well. This is as simple as Portis just being a good example and doing as he is asked by the league that pays him millions of dollars to play a game. Instead he has to prove a freaking point, he is so cool! I hope this answers some questions.
CRT3
The rules clearly state no tinted visors. So there is no medical reason allowed to let players wear them.

I think that there is a medical waiver to wear the black tinted visor.
