W&M
I.Fryer seems to really like D.Thompson, and I have to admit that he made a hell of a catch (with his hands) in traffic. McCants still looks good, but dooesn't know how to get his feet down. J.Green is always open. Garnder is one tough dude.
Uptown Skins
Jacquez Green got the dropsies that one potential TD play. Then again maybe Shane put a little too much on the ball. Either way, it looked more like Green didn't catch it.
Uptown Skins
CHRIS DOERING IS LOOKING NICE!!!
W&M
I agree, Doering catches everything. Thompson has cut a bunch of balls today, and seems to be playing the number 1 role for the last 3 quarters. I guess McCants hurt his hand or shoulder, haven't seen much of him since the OB TD catch. R.Anthony had a handfull of catches. I guess that puts him back into the mix. By my estimate, this race is now down to 7 guys for 6 spots. I stilll think the last spot comes down bt/wn Doering and Anthony. Skaggs and E.Johnson are looking at P-Squad.
Guest SkinsHokie Fan
D. Thompson really looks good out there. He actually ( I know I am getting ahead of myself) looks to be Terrel Owens clone, big strong, long stride and tough. He can make the tough catch and make a play out of it. Overall the recievers did very well which bodes well for this offense.... now if that damn running game can get going.
Art
I'd keep seven to be honest. Make them all return kicks whether they can or not and then you have a use for them . Doering has been awfully sharp for us. Anthony had a nice game tonight. Skaggs is gone. He's not showing anything.
MR.PPV
I agree that Skaggs is gone. Anthony has been good, and so has Doering. "Hands of Stone" Gardner has even looked good. I'm really looking forward to the Pitts burgh game. I want to see what this team can do against a top flight defense
jkam
Now I know why Stevie had no interest in Westbrook. This is a very solid group of wideouts. No superstars, but I'm happy w/ this group. i guess SOS knows what he's doing.
Golgo-13
I think Doering is dipping his hands in glue before the game!! I'm really starting to like this guy. He finds a way to get open and seems to be a real security blanket for the QBs. I hope he makes the squad.

They really seem to be on the same page. It's just like the old days.
Om
Riedel Anthony, Derrius Thompson and Doering all came up large. Guess we're no longer too worried about the WR corps, hmm? Oh yeah, Gardner and Green and Robert Royal all contributed. Wanted to see more of Darnerian, but he never returned after tweaking his wrist/arm. He better get back quick, or ASF will be making a very strong case -- wagering ever -- on Derrius Thompson being The Man.
Golgo-13
Forgot about the play by Robert Royal. One or two plays a game like that one, with lots of good blocking, is all you really need from a tight end. I can see him making the squad. I wanted to see a little more from Gillespie. Betts, got a couple of decent runs in. Looks like he can hit the hole with half decent speed. It looked to me like Spurrier has taken a liking to Rock Cartwright, I saw him chatting with him on the sideline a couple of times.
Montilar
Spurrier was probably amiably telling Rock that the next time he just stands there and lets the blitzer run by him, he's getting shipped to Siberia. Gillespie wasn't much better, but at least he hit the blitzer's legs as he dove under the blitzer. QB still got killed though.
Mad Mike
Rod Gardner looked huge for a reciever. Almost like an extra tight end. He's going to be a big plus against the more physical DBs. I agree with Art, keep seven. That means keep both Doering and Anthony.
Golgo-13
Either 7 WRs or 4 QBs, I'm in favor of the former. I think all of these guys can contribute on O and some on ST as well.
NavyDave
Doering is envoking memories of Fred Biletnikof(sp). D Mac had been dealing with a hand injury prior to the game and hopefully it wont prevent him from playing in next weeks game. Skaggs is being frozen out maybe the lack of attention means a trip to the practice squad with our other rookie WR.
luckydevil
Maybe Thompson can move ahead of Lockett for the number 3 spot. Anthony needed to come up big and did. Doering looked great as well. I really think skins need to keep 7 wrs.
Potato Sack
I really hope Doering gets the nod for a 3rd WR spot, like an Hakim when he was in St. Louis. Doering is giddy because he's back to his old self. He's comfortable in this offense and is loving every minute of it. I think SOS is going to put him in the lineup. I would! kaffeen
They do look pretty good. Chris Doering is a keeper! I'd have to say that Green and Anthony have been the least impressive in game situations so far. To be fair, Quezzie (Green) has been the victim of circumstance. He is worth every penny, no question that he remains. Reidel Anthony may be headed for the practice squad if he doesn't show some consistency. Every one of the current receivers, has at times (some more than others), looked capable of playing at the NFL level and in this offense.
W&M
I'm certainly comfortable with Doering as a WR on our team. Anyone familiar with how he fares on special teams? I think Thompson & McCants are the only ones that can play on coverage units. Ultimately, I think special teams could be what pushes Anthony out the door ... unless he regain the form (and speed) of his florida days. I have to admit, those highlights looked good. As for Doering, I agree that he looks a lot like McCaffrey in height and build, and he even cathes and stiff arms like him, but he's not nearly as strong or fast. McCaffree is a haus. I see a little Jearuvicious in Doering as well.
Hoyaparanoia
Darius Thompson is really coming along. He and Doering are most impressive. These kids are making us really forget about Mr. Westbrook and that is hard for me to say because I like him.
