McNabb's Fake Spike

McNabb did a fake spike right before halftime...

seemed that he made that call himself, since nobody

else on the offense had a clue it was a fake...

Daniels nailed McNabb and time ran out...

First sack by a redskins DE this century :applause:

thats how its run... when you fake the spike you hope that the o line tricks the defense by not trying hard

i got a good laugh out of that one...he seemed so surprised when McNabb didnt throw it and then nailed him.

You and me both. It was one of the highlights of the game to be sure. That, and Cooley finally getting mention on ESPN! :point2sky

I'll bet that is a play that McNabb and TO have a silent understanding for, they would know by instinct if that is what they were going to do, but I bet McNabb forgot that only TO will always runn a route and look for it every time just in case.

It did seems as though DNabb was the only one aware of the intent on that play. The o-line just stood up and Brian Westbrook slept thru the whole thing. He was McNabb's only potential blocker by the time the d-line was on it's way. It saved a potentially disastrous end to the first half, too.

(BTW- How about Portis' tackle on that Brunell fumble?)
