Dalecitymike
12Philadelphia Eagles3How can they go from limiting LaDainian Tomlinson to 7 yards to getting gashed by the Broncos for 253? This team just doesn't look right, does it? 14Washington Redskins10The Giants smacked them back to reality. The offense was awful and the defense wasn't much better. It's funny how perception changes in a week. NFL (CBS) Power Rankings ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16 (14)Redskins4-3-0Pretty poor display in such an important game. The Giants played with tons of emotion and it looked like the Redskins didn't play with any. 12 (7)Eagles4-3-0The Eagles have been outscored 62-14 in the first quarter this year. That has to change. ESPN Power Rankings --------------------------------------------------------------------- 124Philadelphia Eagles (4-3) This is the way I see it. McNabb is stiff when a game starts, bothered by his abdominal strain. As he gets into the contest he warms up and he can operate a bit more comfortably. So what's the defensive strategy? Biltz the hell out of him in the beginning, which was what the Broncos did, using the old Jerry Glanville, rush-nine, Gritz Blitz on the first series. McNabb goes 0-for-his first 12 in the game, then he warms up and starts completing passes, and the Broncos get nervous and pull in their horns and give him time to throw. I don't like that latter strategy, but I guess they don't need my help. As far as the weird roller coaster ride the Eagle defense is on ... not enough time to get into it now. Next week, OK?1610Washington Redskins (4-3) Did you know that the smart money was on the Skins, plus two, last weekend? They were the darlings of the wiseguy bettors. Just an interesting note, but here's another one that got absolutely no mention on TV. Washington's defensive-line star, in fact their overall best defensive player, tackle Cornelius Griffin, went out early with a hip injury, and we were never informed. Probably wouldn't have significantly changed the contest, but we should know, wouldn't you think? Sports Illustrated Power Rankings

Skinsfan1311
Everyone is overpursuing and missing tackles.....why does this remind me of a few years ago? Yes, BUT, we now have the staff in place to correct and adjust this....I have faith that GW & Co. got a VERY big wake-up call, this past Sunday, and will batten down the hatches and shut down the big play.... G-Prime
lets just get pressure on mcnabb Oh well you've solved all our problems.. It's weird no one thought of that before.. While we're at it.. Lets cause some turn overs too =)
TheGreek1973
Homers...please tell me how I can be blind to the facts and blot out all logic.....I would love to live in la la land like you.Unfortunately I live in the real world. Last week before the game I said I felt that the Giants were going to put up 30 points on us. This week I believe Westbrook will have near 100 yards rushing and of course his usual 60-80 yards in receptions. I don't know that its a "breakout" game, but he is going to have ahell of a game because he can cutback and the Skins cannot deal with cutback runners. T.O. should have a decent day and L J Smith might even catch a TD pass or 2. If the Skins were to win this week they will have to put up 30 points because I see the Eagles with 27 or 28. Oh really? Maybe you can tell me what horse to play in the Derby next year. Or you can answer me this question. From all the home games Denver has played this year the only one that we in Big trouble with was with the skins. This week we findout of the Giants game was a fluke or we are that bad. I mean if the Donkeys can get 49 on the Eagles maybe we also have a chance....who knows after all fans like you know we suck and can perdict 30 points blow outs. Me I am just a homer. Hail_Skinz
i dont think Westbrook is a very good running back but if we cant shore up the outside he'll have a field day. I expect a lot of screen plays to westbrook as well I agree 100%...no one has been able to run right at us. We have to contain the runs outside and we should be OK. TD_washingtonredskins
I worry about Westbrook a lot because he's precisely the type of back that we've struggled to contain. We've held down the stronger, between the tackles RBs this year: Jones (Chicago), Jones (Dallas), Anderson (Denver) but we've struggled vs. the shifty, scatback types: Alexander (Seattle), Holmes (KC) when they let him get in space, Bell (Denver), Barber (NYG). So pretty much, if the Eagles attack our flanks, they should find success. If they, for some reason, attempt to run up the gut, we'll be OK. fdarugar
I think we will attack less, play back, stop the run and make Donovan beat us. (if we could only get pressure from the, dline...sigh)

MonkeySkin
I think the reason we haven't been tackling well is because they're going for the ball, trying to create fumbles since everyone has been talking a lot turnovers... Hopefully they'll just get back to actually tackling.

skinsmania123
Geez. You know it is like a media set-up: The Eagles don't run well. They better learn to run if they want to compete in the East and in the rest of their games. The Eagles cannot go to the playoffs and expect to win without a run game. Andy Reid: Hmmm the Skins suck against the run. Run Westbrook Run. Take all the hand-offs you can handle. I am running you 50 times against the Skins at least. They can actually kick our ass running the ball and Andy gets to look like a genius or at least a coach who knows how to adjust. UGGGGGH
TheLongshot
Well, Westbrook usually gets his yards against us, but we are usually able to contain things. First game was pretty close until things got out of hand late, and we almost could take them for the second game. I am worried about the line, but I think that just means that the LBs need to step up. I also feel good from the standpoint that this game is at home. We've done pretty well at home.
