With all the talk about how the Giants are going to be bad partly due to the lack of team chemistry and working together, this statement by Fassel kind of puts that to rest for me.

"They're practicing excellent," Fassel said. "If they practice that well and they keep it up, they'll be good. They're going. You can see the intensity and the spirit. It's a lot different than years past, when there was nit-picking and they weren't together. These guys are going after each other and patting each other on the back and it's good."

On a weird note, one of the rookie WR's for the Giants announced, yes, his retirement. I guess he had enough of his football career already? I'm not sure if it was due to injury but there was no mention of it.

Btw, the receiver who is retiring is not one of their known rookie WR's. It is a free agent rookie who I never heard of. It isn't Tim Carter or Jones. If it were, I'd be on my way to the hospital right now having a heart attack.

I'd believe you if Fassell wasn't such a moron. Everything that he says now is gold because he made that dumb guarantee in '00. The planets were aligned, and everything worked out for him that year. What everybody conveniently forgets is that he did the same damn thing last year to no avail.

Unlike most here, I think the Giants will finish ahead of the Cowboys, again.

I think as long as the Giants D doesnt give up 25 points a game, they could win anywhere from 6-9 games.

Guess I am in the minority here though.

Hey Tom-

I agree with T.E.G. that the Giants will finish ahead of the Cowboys. I don't know if your boys take anything Fassel says as truth - he sounds like he's always trying to convince himself when he says that stuff - but I really do think that having Shockey will help the Giants O grow a couple of testes.

I do hope Fassell keeps his job, because I don't want them in the Marvin Lewis sweepstakes next season. But until they dump that dork, along with "genius" Sean Payton (king of the one big game) and Ron "I always look baked" Dayne, Big Blue won't be that scary. Especially with Foxy out of the fold.

But I do respect the team and your being here. Great rivalries make for strong divisions.
