evucci
Chill the **** out guys. One game doesn't mean jack in the NFL. The character of a team is made in these situations. Either this team comes back with a nasty attitude, or they fold it up and hide in their million dollar homes. One game doesn't mean that Gibbs shouldn't be President, Portis is overated, the front office doesn't know jack, etc... Get a life if ONE game is going to make you think that way. I can understand getting blown out- it happens to the best of teams sometimes. The question is- what do you do when a team hits you in mouth? Do you fight back or flee? Losing one game doesn't mean your heading straight to a losing season, and winning one game (49ers) doesn't mean your going to the Super Bowl. The team is 4-3. Period. End of discussion. Craig
It's not that they lost a game...it is how they lost a game for first place in the NFC East. It's the fact that they haven't corrected past mistakes like holding onto the football. It's the fact that they defense has regressed big time. You can write it off as one game...but they have lost 3 out of the last 4 games now...this thing can snowball quick.
dfitzo53
I wouldn't say that one game doesn't mean jack in the NFL. First off, it's a division game, and as tight as the NFC East is that's important. Second, there's a fundamental difference between playing 16 games in an NFL season and 3,000 in an MLB season. Individual games, even if they're not crucial, do matter. We're still 4-3, yes. We obviously can still make the playoffs. However, our schedule this year is not exactly a cakewalk and every win is one notch closer to the postseason.

Commander PK
I agree that this is just one game, and the season is far from over. However, this loss is very troubling, because the Skins had NO EXCUSE for why they weren't ready for this game. Both teams 4-2, Division lead at stake, not to mention the fact that everybody in the media is calling them pretenders, they know that the Giants are going to be super-charged because of the death of their owner, and their response to ALL this, is to lay a giant goose egg in the middle of the Meadowlands. I just don't feel like this was just another game, and they totally blew it today. This loss hurts. They need to get out there and prove that this game was a fluke. I'm an optimistic, but disgusted Redskin fan today. The Skins need to show us something against the Eagles Sunday.

The best teams don't just roll over and play dead after one aweful week. Just look at the Ravens when they won the Superbowl. They didn't score a TD in like 6 weeks. And they got beat often this early in the season. Then look at the Patriots when they won they're first Superbowl. They got blown out around this same time. They even did it during there other superbowl years. Early in the year they had a bad game and everybody sounded the alarm and was like, "Oh no! The Patriots riegn is over! They just got beat badly! They're on their way down! Oh NO!!" Then they went on to win the Superbowl. Every body is bound to have one of these days. Most Superbowl teams in recent history do. They get it early, get a reality check, then play hard to win the rest. It's not how you fall, it's how you get back up after you fall. And because it's not how you start, it's how you finish. This game was a wake up call. We came in soft and emotionless and didn't execute the fundamentals. Too many dropped balls and missed tackles. That's not like us this season. I'm sure the players will be insulted after this and work hard this week in practice and fix it. The Giants on the other hand, had every thing to play for and they showed it. They were playing with purpose to honor their fallen owner. Now for us, we will come back from this and we will be OK. We just need to pray that the players are OK and the injuries are not serious. There is a silver lining in everthing. Today, Ryan Clark was our silver lining. He played his heart out. Just don't panic. Don't over react because there is ALOT of football still left to play. Joe Gibbs will really work the players this week to make sure they don't let it happen again next week. I garuntee you that. Have faith Redskins fans. jrockster21
Hmmm...well, the Eagles got blown out today as well; if we both come out swinging on Sunday night, it could be one hell of a game!! I just hope the injuries aren't serious. This was like watching the friggin' bodybag game...
JoeKnowsBest
One more thing.... When it was looking like we were done in the Dallas game, they kept trying, and kept the faith and we were rewarded for believing. We won that game in the end against improbable odds. So don't give up so easily guys. It's just one game. And you can't use the other losses because we were in those games. This is just one game it was bound to happen once this season. It just so happens it was against an emotionaly charged team that was inspired by their owner. The giants had EVERYthing to play for/motavating them this week. Between their owner, the division, geting dised all week by the experts picking against them, and Pierce looking to prove something against his old team desperately wanting to beat them... They had every thing they were playing for. Just a little more than we did. Now it's our turn. Now we have something to prove. And the Redskins will. Today was their day. When they come to Washington; THAT DAY... will be our day. Another note as to why they did so well today: Both Matt Hasslebeck and Antonio Peirce knows both or our playbooks. It's very possible that they were sharing that info with the coaches of the Giants and the rest of the players. After all, they did seem to have an answer for every thing we tried. Kojak
Honestly, I kind of don't want the sun to come up tomorrow.... I don't blame you. If my team only had 125 total yards of offense and scored a big fat 0, after scoring 50 plus points the week before. The heck with the sun, I wouldn't even want to wake up and face the reality.:shot:
