GO GO SKINS
We need someone up im the front office whom knows how to make sound decisions. HOW DO YOU LET ANTONIO PIERCE GO? The man had 150+ tackles of which 100+ solo. Why do you pick up players like ROYAL, SAMUELS, Walt HARRIS to name a few. Come on... this is a great organization with an owner that will do whatever it takes to get back to its winning ways. You need some experts in there that will do more than "take a long hard look!" How often are you going look? If this team contiues to make the same mistakes over and over, it really will be a disappointing season.
SkinsHokieFan
Well we drafted Royal and Samuels and our offer to Pierce was virtually the same as the Giants except they had more upfront money He had no loyalty and was looking out for himself and now bad mouths the organization
GO GO SKINS
I am not looking for answers about those particular players, they were just used as examples. Do you think Gibbs should hand down that responsibility to someone else and focus more on playbook, special teams, etc?

Do you think Gibbs should hand down that responsibility to someone else and focus more on playbook, special teams, etc? He does. It is still a "team effort" the only thing is Gibbs and the coaching staff have the final call on who to pick and sign And for the most part they have been damn good at it. For example last year's FA class Washington, Griffin, Springs, Brunell (Trade), hell even Ray Brown was a solid move We drafted 2 starters in Sean Taylor and Chris Cooley This year it gets better as we signed Casey Rabach and drafted Carlos Rogers Antonio Pierce captians the 31st ranked D, while Fred Smoot is arranging sex parties I like what Gibbs has done so far
scruffylookin
Gibbs and company have been pretty good at bringing in players. I don't believe any changes are necessary. Antonio Pierce did not win the game for the Giants. If Antonio Pierce was on the Skins, we still would not have won today.

knowledge316
Yea man Gibbs is a dumba$$. Its not like he he's won 3 super bowls or anything. Gibbs is a GREAT coach. However, those 3 super bowls had a lot to do with our GM as well as Gibbs. For example, Gibbs main man, which he gave a ton of stuff for, was Desmond Howard. We all know how that turned out. I agree that so far, Gibbs and Co., has done a very good job in getting good free agents to come here. However, draft wise, its been pretty bad. Counting first round picks don't even count, most of the time they are very easy to draft. Most of our 2nd round and later draft picks don't even contribute on our team. Thats terrible. I'm not just referring to this year either. Its been like this for a long time, aside from Jansen, I don't think any of our starters or players with significant playing time were drafted by us later than first round. I am not talking about undrafted players either. If you can pick up good undrafted players, you should be able to draft good players also.

No youngster, I mean he is getting older and the responsibility with trying to get the team to play well week to week, long hours preparing for games. It may useful to release some of the stress to have someone else come in and handle that aspect. Learn not be a smartazz cause it makes you not look so well. JoeKnowsBest
NO. Gibbs is just fine. He needed to change the atmosphere from a "me" and "I" attitude to a Team attitude and he's doing just that. Plus, he needs that position to get the respect he deserves from his players so they respond. You're not going to respond to threats of being cut when you're not performing from some one that doesn't have that power. And with Gibbs, he needs and deserves that authority. Players respond better to his coaching that way. They need to know he doesn't fool around and that's exactly the way it is and needs to stay. We had one bad day. Every body does. Even the Super Bowl champs did each of the last 5 seasons. Stop over reacting!

Dalecitymike
Please the real reason wasn't just money. He didn't want to be on a sinking ship that is going nowhere. He felt that the Redskins will never get to the Superbowl during his career.

Gallen5862
Someone posted that undrafted free agents should not count in evaluating draft picks. I believe it should be counted as part of the draft planning. Good teams can see a player who is dropping out of the draft for some reason yet sign them without costing a pick. Coach gibbs has a history of finding alot of diamonds from undrafted players.
knowledge316
Can someone tell me how many starters on offense that we drafted were below the 2nd round? How many players on defense were drafted below the 2nd round? On offense, it's Dockery (3rd), Sellers and Royal (undrafted) and Rock (7th). Only Dockery is a starter and the other 3 contributes regularly. On Defense, its Clemons, Marshall and Clark. Thats it. Most of the players we have are 1st round picks. That's the problem. We need to draft players that will contribute. First rounders are supposed to be playing. It's what you do after that makes a solid team. We haven't been able to draft well in recent years. How many draft picks from the past two seasons contribute (other than the 1st round picks)? Not many. I was watching last monday night's game and they showed something that caught my attention. Their entire O-line is composed of 3 5th round picks, a 6th and an undrafted. Also, Patriots O-line are all drafted below the 3rd. What I'm saying is that good teams will get valuable players from the picks. This is where we struggle, granted we got a few undrafted players that plays regularly for us. Bottom line, we need to get better scouts or management to pick up players that will contribute.
H-O-G
Gibbs should be fired, Synder should try and get a Hall of Fame coach. Oh wait...... Gibbs is in his second year as head coach, wait till you see Jason Campbell
