rdsknbill
Green is and always will be Mr. Redskin. There will never be another with such passion and loyalty to the team and the surrounding community
Doozinbrah
i think a better comparison is arrington or green, they are the only 2 people that i view as star franchise players (wasnt old enough to watch riggins n company so ). this is moss's 1st year here, hes got a ways to go before you can start comparing him to green. Agreed......to further this discussion who do you think could be the next DG for the Skins? I would say Arrington but you never know what can happen with the way free agency is. I may get ridiculed for this but what about Rock 10 years down the road. I know he does not have the ability talent wise to match up against DG. But, he is a fan favorite. LiveStrongSkins
This has to be the dumbest question ever. Maybe theres a slight difference in what a 15 year old would post and a 42 year old would... dont ya think?
Lombardi's_kid_brother
I got to meet Mr. Green when he was up at a training camp right outside my town. He was a very nice person and he lead the team. Although I did not get his autograph he was very polite and he has lots of talent. I have not met Moss but if I had the chance I would take it. These players are both great play makers...but which do you like more?Moss or Green. 20 years or 8 games....20 years or 8 games.....Toughie..... If Moss is playing in Dallas in two years, I doubt this will be a question.
EnFoRcEr_uPu
Don't get me wrong, Moss is a beast. He is a very key man on our offense, and has probably been the most productive offensive player we've had in years. But he has a LONG way to go before he can think about reaching the status that Green has.

Jordan086
Darrell Green - one of the greatest of all time and definitely my favorite. With that said, you brought up meeting them. I moved down to Miami when I was young (but stayed loyal to the Skins). Anyways, my best friend is a big fan of the U and we saw Santana one day walking around town when he was still with the Jets. We went up and said hi and that we were fans and when we were about to leave him alone he engaged us in a conversation. He was one of the nicest guys I've ever met. I told him how mad I was when we took Gardner over him and I said he should leave the Jets and come to Washington. He laughed it off and said he would see what he could do. Therefore, I think I am clearly responsible for Santana coming to the Skins.
raperry2
This reminds me of the media saying that Eli Manning is going to be the greatest ever. PEOPLE ARE TOO FAR AHEAD OF THEMSELVES.... like EIGHTEEN YEARS ahead!
NavyDave
Give the youngin a break he was barely an "Olypmic Swimmer" if not a nocturnal stirring in papi's loins when Darrell Green was coming into his prime. Still Moss hasn't finished the season and isnt on Charlie Brown, Smurfs or fun bunch level yet.
NastyBoy
:sucks: How can you even mention Moss with DG in the same sentence after only 6 games? Exactly. Moss is a spectacular player, and I'm glad he's wearing burgundy and gold, but let's see how things shake out when it's time to talk $$$. We'll see where his loyalties lie. DG proved himself to be the consumate Redskin year after year after year. He loved playing, but he loved the Skins like no one I've ever seen. You can see his heart still belongs to them. This comparison is impossible to make, although I know that the love affair for Santana is new. It's the "new girlfriend" syndrome. Everything still has that newness to it, and you still get butterflies and stuff, still a big deal just to hold hands and junk. You're still in "first kiss" mode if you're asking to make a comparison like that! DG gave us that feeling for 20 years.......so the jury will be out for a long time when it comes to Moss. Loki
Twenty years. Three Lombardi trophies. The tipped pass in the end zone to beat the Vikings. The punt return against the Bears. The true love of the community and the Redskins. And a shutdown corner in every possible sense of the word. Darrell Green, hands down.Don't get me wrong, I love Santana. It's a special thing to have a true game breaking receiver. We haven't had that for a long time. But he's got a long way to go to make the contribution to this team that Darrell Green has. Ask me in 20 years though, I might have a different opinion. Enough said....
Peregrine
How can you even ask this question? Comparing Darrel Green with someone who has been playing as a redskins for several months? Shame on you... Santana Moss or no Santana Moss, DG hands down.
tvo14
There is no comparison. D Green is a Hall of Fame Redskin for life! Great Redskin and even greater community activist. Moss is still young, so we'll see what his career brings on and off the field.
hiswadeness
This thread is dumb, If anyone says Moss, they should be made to cheer for the cowboys.
Taylor 36
Ask me again in twenty years... Exactly. You really can't compare anyone to Darrell Green at this date and time. He played for so many years and did so much for this team that no one could possibly come close to measuring up at this time.

Henry
Moss. In five years he already has more TDs than Green. He's also a better punt returner than Green was. Just because a guy plays for 20 years doesn't mean he's great ... just good enough to not get cut. Yeah. I'm kidding.

bcl05
Clearly a childish question. Kind of like when my toddler asks why I have to go to work sometimes. Some people just haven't been around long enough to know how the world works. I hope its true that this was just a kid asking. If its an adult, then they must either be incredibly stupid, a Cowboy fan, or clinically insane.
