EnFoRcEr_uPu
While I know this game will be a huge impact on both teams for the season, I think there is an aspect of the division that nobody has considered. Let's look at something for a moment: *Statistics Include Week 8* Divisional games played so far this season: Washington: 2 New York: 2 Philidelphia: 1 Dallas: 3 Divisional Home games played so far this season: Washington: 0 New York: 1 Philidelphia: 0 Dallas: 3 Divisional Away games played so far this season: Washington: 2 New York: 1 Philidelphia: 1 Dallas: 0 Divisional Record so far this season(not including week 8...obviously, LOL): Washington: 1-0 New York: 0-1 Philidelphia: 0-1 Dallas: 2-1 Now, knowing all of this, you might even begin to think that this win could be even bigger than it seems, seeing how its not only for the lead of the division, but the league or who has the best divisional record(which obviously has the largest impact on who leads the pack come seasons end). Vague Prediction(s): 1. Both Washington and Philly have a 3-game streak in their schedule. So I believe the 2 largest games of the season for any team in the NFC East will be the FIRST game of the 3 games series' for both of these teams, as it will send them on either a winning or losing streak in my opinion. 2. If Dallas does not win their first divisional game on the road against Philly 3 weeks from now, they will struggle to stay with the pack for the rest of the season. Which by the way, could prove to show that their defense may or may not be too inconsistent to "hang with the gang". Luckily for the Cowboys, they do not have a 3-game divisional game streak(along w/ the giants) that may prove to be what they need if they fall to the Eagles that week. 3. Philly's offense may actually SUFFER if they finally decide to start running Westbrook more and stop giving him screenplays and such. We all know TO's ego, and how the only thing keeping him happy in Philly right now(if you consider it being happy)is that he's still performing. If they take the ball away from him too much, and he sees less rec's, he may try to out-do himself to make up for it, burning him out both physically and mentally for the remainder of the season.(I believe the Eagles have dug themselves a hole they may not be able to get out of) Feel free to flame if you need to. I'm still fairly new to a lot of this stuff, just trying my best.

rvan1
if giants suffer another division loss, they are 0-2 and still have to play philly twice. thats the makings of a hole right there...

Loxley
I cant see how losing the first game of our 3 div game streak is gonna automatically send us on a downhill spiral into losing the following two. I could argue using the same school of thought that beating the Cards (Dec 11th) might set us on an almighty motivational drive and having us go 4-0 to end round out the year. Possible but unlikely atm imo. Other than that, an interesting assesment.
FBChick
Here is how big this game will really be in the long run, regardless of it being so early. So far we have beaten the Cowboys on the road, if we beat the Giants on the road.. then the advantage in the divison comes squarely to us. we've handed two divison rivals home losses, and next time we see them we have the home field advantage, which bodes well for us. Add to that, the Eagles have already lost to Dallas, which simply means they ARE beatable. We can start viewing a good possibility of a split with the Eagles and a sweep of both Dallas and Giants. This alone will put our record right where we need it to be to take this division. Losing it is not so nearly devasting, since it is an away game and the next time we see the Giants is at home. BUT, I think Eli is going to be easier to deal with now, then at the end of December when we see him again. The win at least protects us from any possible gains he may make over the course of the year. Winning all the home divisonal games is a MUST in coming away with a wild card spot, but to be contenders for the Division Title, which I think we have a team that can legitamatly do that, we need to get this road game as well. This truely is a very even division. Each team has enough plus side to them to make a run to go deep into the play-offs, and enough issues to keep them in the race down the stretch. I see the title and even the wild card spot coming down to Conference records and Division records.. and getting this much advantage so early let's us breath more comfortably down the stretch! Lifelong Skins Fan
Some additional facts: 1) Dallas has more home field advantage early in the season when the weather is hot because of their stupid hole in the roof stadium where the sun only hits the visitor sideline. The Redskins win there is huge. 2)We are catching the Giants at a good time with Burress nicked, supposed to be good weather in NJ, and the skins fairly healthy and coming off a win 3) McNabb is more than nicked. He admitted this week he cannnot throw long. They were lucky to win last week and there O is suspect at best. It was first term Joe who oft said win all your division games at home and 1/2 on the road and you win the division. A win this week and we are well on our way. With any luck we are watching Ramsey in Philly week 17 while our starters rest for the playoffs.
