skinsblitz
I don't know if this has been asked before, but I want to know. Do you think that when Spurrier's current deal is done will he sign an extention? This is based on if the team does well under his tenure and Snyder doesn't go psycho and fires him before then (which I doubt happens). I know I'm getting way ahead of myself with this question, but I love this guy!!! There I said it... I LOVE THIS GUY!!! I'd hate to lose him after only 5 years. So do you think he would stay or will he seek a job elsewhere. 5 years won't be enough I tell ya!!!!!
Golgo-13
Depends...if he has won a Super Bowl or two already, I would say not. But if he hasn't won it all, but is close, then I could see him staying on a little longer to try to close the deal.
Cskin
More importantly, what happens to our offensive philosophy when he leaves. Yes... I love him as our head coach, and I love the attention (albeit negative) we're getting from his affiliation with our ball club. I asked this in another thread but, who might coach the offense if he were to leave. Obviously, you continue to do what works.... so.. if he were to leave... who might have the mind to continue with the offensive philosophy? Noah Brindise? Steve Spurrier Jr? Hummmmmm........ Sarge
If he's winning playoff games and Super Bowls, Danny will give him the mint to stay
Riggo-toni
Unless he falls flat on his face, I look for a 10 year or so tenure, like the real "The Man," Saint Joe Gibbs
riggins44
I see him wanting to at least equal Jimmy Johnson's record. He is a winner and wants to go out on top.
bulldog
the shelf life for coaches in one city appears to be about 5 or 6 years if they are successful these days tops. some like a Cowher or Jeff Fisher make it longer but they are the exceptions. part of it is burnout and part of it is the continued pace of expectations. once you are successful you have to do even more the next time out. Cowher has been relatively fortunate that the Steelers have lost THREE AFC title games while he has been there and has been able to hang on. of course the fact the Steelers can't retain their players and don't add many free agents mitigates against a big name going there to replace him I think Spurrier will finish out his 5 year contract, although he might not be here much longer than that 5 years. I am going to say 6. He will finish out his original deal and then extend for another year. That would make him 62. Given Spurrier's interest in his leisure time and family activities with his wife, I don't see him coaching at age 66 like Dick Vermeil or Marv Levy did. Awesome
yes, I see him staying here his entire career
DallasGatr
Spurrier has always said he has no intention of requiring a walker to patrol the sidlines, (as in Bobby Bowden). I'll be surprised if he stays for the full 5 years. He has too many golf courses to check out.
TennesseeCarl
I don't see him making it the full five year....that's an awfully long time in Snyder time. It's going to be an interesting tenure here. Will the fans excitement with his style breed jealousy in Daniel Snyder? It did with Jerry Jones. How much involvement does Snyder get? Seems to me they turned over this past draft to him. As Spurrier goes on and proves himself, does he start demanding more control?
