With 9 home games like the Giants have...

...we would easily go 11-5.

I dont see anyone beating us at home this year besides possibly the Eagles. Who else? San Diego? I don't think so. Regardless of what happens the next two games, I can easily see us ripping off 7 straight after that. I know, I know one game at a time. But thinking about the Giants and the fact that they have an extra home game got me thinking about how valuable that game really is. It doesn't matter if the Saints suck. 9 home games means only 7 away games. Imagine getting either Denver or KC at home instead of away. I still think we can go 11-5. But an extra home game would sure make it a lot easier.

You guys are so overconfident. You do realize that most people are picking the Redskins to finish dead last right?

Keep em coming man... Well see whose on top after sunday... In the skins 2 losses they blew it with turnovers... solve that problem and we are golden... Shannon Sharpe said it best when he said the team to beat in the NFC East is the Washington Redskins...

i wouldn't be surprised if the skins make it to the Superbowl.

no joke.

Top teams in the NFC, IMO, ranking from best to last. (W/O including the 'Skins)

1) Falcons (cause Vick can win games by himself... if healthy)

2) Seahawks (they are somewhat well balanced, with a strong offense)

3) Eagles (Just because McNabb is a tough SOB, and the coaching staff)

4) Cowboys (sad to say, balanced team, but inconsistent)

5) Tampa Bay (their offense is done, Cadillacs break like every other domestic vehicle, but they have a strong D, which helps a lot)

6) Giants (Only here because of their current record, but statistically, i think they are well over-hyped, offense that relies on big plays, and a crappy ass defense... they're winning cause they played mediocre teams and created turnovers... we'll see if they are forreal this sunday)

Tell me, which team ISN'T beatable from a Redskins stand point? None.

Redskins, IMO, not because I'm a fan, is the most balanced and consistent team in the NFC. IF we improve the turnover ratio, I think we are unbeatable in the NFC. IMO, take away the turnovers in the Denver and KC team, and we are 6-0. I told myself and everyone I know that if the Redskins beat the Cowboys in week 2, they'd be a special team this year, and they beat the Cowboys. With that said, if the Redskins beat the Giants this week, we are going to the playoffs. yea... i said the P word.

If we make it to the playoffs, and with the discipline and coaching experience of Joe Gibbs along with his staff, the S-B word isn't so far off after all.

as far as jinxing the Redskins, I'll tell you this, for over 10 years now, i've been modest, and not confident with the Skins, I would week in and week out predict that they'd lose... and they'd lose, and they sucked for over a decade! JINX??? wutever. . .

I can't decide what mentality we fans need to have. On one hand, I am pretty nervous about the next 2 games, but at the same time I feel so good about the way our team is playing overall right now. Some might say we shouldn't be too confident right now, but maybe it is that confidence that is the key. Maybe we should stop doubting ourselves and truly believe 100% that we are going to make these next two games look like childs play.

As for the remaining road games. The Giants, Eagles, Tampa and believe it or not the Cardinals game too will be tough wins. Again, I'd be happy to split and win 2 of the 4.

That would give us a 10-6 record and most likely a playoff birth.

I see it playing out something like this:

Sep 11 Chicago Won 9-7

Sep 19 @Dallas Won 14-13

Week 3 BYE

Oct 2 Seattle Won 20-17

Oct 9 @Denver Lost 19-21

Oct 16 @Kansas City Lost 21-28

Oct 23 San Francisco Won 52-17

Oct 30 @N.Y. Giants 1:00pm Lose

Nov 6 Philadelphia 8:30pm Win

Nov 13 @Tampa Bay 1:00pm Win

Nov 20 Oakland 1:00pm Win

Nov 27 San Diego 1:00pm Lose

Dec 4 @St. Louis 4:05pm Win

Dec 11 @Arizona 4:05pm Win

Dec 18 Dallas 1:00pm Lose

Dec 24 N.Y. Giants 1:00pm Win

Jan 1 @Philadelphia 4:15pm Lose

The original point of the thread is well taken. The extra home game the Giants received will more than likely make a difference at the end. The league should've put the game at a neutral field......hell, if the league wanted to make it a more realistic setting where the crowd was hostile towards the Giants, they should've given the tickets to the game to Jets season ticket holders!

Of course, the Skins can take care of business this week and negate this extra advantage the Giants have this year.

My theory on why people believe there's such a thing as a jinx.

Any given week, everyone who watches in football makes every possible prediction about the team. Then something bad happens. Someone goes and finds the prediction that says that something bad wouldn't happen. They say "see you jinxed it." The fact is, things happen. And since every single week some predicted every possible scenario, it only stands to reason that in all situations, someone "jinxed" it

There is such a thing as jinxing your team...
jinx ( P ) Pronunciation Key (jngks) n.

1. A person or thing that is believed to bring bad luck.

2. A condition or period of bad luck that appears to have been caused by a specific person or thing....

Luckily, their ain't no such thing. (Good sentence)

But if there was such a thing, the Giants would lose the rest of their games thanks to their boy "Happyfoosball"..

I'm with you. I'm by no means sure we'll beat NY, Philly, etc. but I love the way we're playing at this point and feel we CAN beat anyone.
