RedsSKINS_7
in his 3 years he has never had a season with a quarterback rating of 80 or higher or bring the skins to the playoffs was he worth a draft pick
Mooka
at least he's still on the team...
Goaldeje
Well, there are many QBs in the league who were drafted and have never attained the lofty status you speak of. Some even higher round draft picks. So was he worth a 5th or 6th or even 3rd rounder? Yeah, probably. A first? Well, that's a little trickier... canesluver
Might be well worth the pick if Brunell goes done and he manages to lead us to the playoffs.
1ofDaFatBoys
yes. he will be a good qb one day.
Eparadox
I still think he's better than either Carr or Harrington
canesluver
I still think he's better than either Carr or Harrington I would have to agree with you except Carr doesn't stand a chance. Doesn't he lead the league in being sacked? He hasn't had much of a line or a team since he was drafted. I'd like to see what he could do on a better team. dpass
:2cents:He was worth a draft pick. You guys must have forgot that he was the QB when steve spare-us was the coach. He was always getting hit, so he was playing scared. Last year he played good when he came in for Brunell. Eventhough it was his first year in Gibbs offense. He didn't play with a lot of confidence in the preseason or in week one. But right now Mark is the better QB. Ramsey will be a good QB in the league one day. When Mark is done it will be up to him or Jason to step up.
PuckDallas81
I think it was a good pick at the time if you look at the qb's we had then Danny Wuerful and Shane Matthews, they were so horrible and i believe (not sure) he was drafted the year after we had Tony Banks as our starter so we definately needed a qb and Ramsey was the one there at the time
Leonard Washington
he was a #31 or 32...might as well be a second round pick.
joelvincent
Go to a NYJ board or a CHI Bears board and ask them if its worth a draft pick to have a solid backup...
jrockster21
Go to a NYJ board or a CHI Bears board and ask them if its worth a draft pick to have a solid backup... Yeah, except that the term 'solid backup' is relatively subjective...

twenty-eight
:helmet:you really cant answer that yet. He hasnt proven that he can play or that he cant in this league. As far as carr goes, he just doesnt have any time in the pocket and jabar gaffney is his best wr. He has all the tools to be a good qb in this league. At this point i dont even see how we could even get a second rounder for ramsey.:logo:
fpickering
Not a chance he was worth a 1st/2nd round draft pick. I think that verdict is still out on whether or not he was worth a 1st/2nd round draft pick. Ramsey's NFL career is not over nor has he reached his potential. jbooma
Starting to wonder if any of those qb's were worth #1 picks that year. It is still to early to tell what is going to become of Pat, however I would say right now he wasn't worth a #1. That can change though.
twenty-eight
well if we get someone decent for him (abraham anyone) then yeah he was worth it abraham is a whole lot better than decent. jimster
I would have to agree with you except Carr doesn't stand a chance. Doesn't he lead the league in being sacked? He hasn't had much of a line or a team since he was drafted. I'd like to see what he could do on a better team. Carr hasn't had much of a chance. - He's probably the most talented QB from that draft. If he were on a team with a good O-line, RB and had a good system, I think he'd do awesome. Luckily for him he will probably have a new coach next year. Jizmaglobin
well if we get someone decent for him (abraham anyone) then yeah he was worth it i agree.JC is our future and Ramsey should be traded.considering the lengths the team went to to get JC,they must feel the same way.:deal:
e16bball
I think when you view the pick in the context of "we needed a QB in that draft" then it's a good pick. Take a look at the other QBs in that draft...Carr, Harrington, J. McCown, and Garrard are probably the only names you even recognize. I think Ramsey is a.) the most talented and b.) quite possibly the most accomplished of the group. However, in terms of good players we could have gotten with that pick, there are many guys we could have used just in the 2nd round (I only considered the 2nd round players because anyone after that would not have been a legitimate option at the pick). DeShaun Foster, LeCharles Bentley, Tank Williams, Clinton Portis, Anthony Weaver, Michael Lewis, Sheldon Brown, and Deion Branch are all very solid starter-caliber players who were selected in that round, just after Ramsey. Joncevensen
u know what, he was worth the risk. he may never play like a first rounder, maybe he will, but he hasnt been a bust, he has given us a descent return and i have no regrets about drafting him
