bubba9497
Redskins Week 8 Notebook http://www.dcexaminer.com/articles/2005/10/24/sports/redskins/002_all_skinsnotes.txt Injury report: Defensive tackle Cornelius Griffin (groin) likely will miss practice time this week, but the Redskins still expect him to play against his former team Sunday. Rookie corner Carlos Rogers, who did not play because of an ankle injury despite being listed as probable on the injury report, is expected to play Sunday. Safety Sean Taylor (sprained ankle) might miss some practice. Reserve defensive tackle Cedric Killings (ankle) is expected to return. Linebacker LaVar Arrington (hamstring) will be OK. Extra toppings: Papa John’s had a busy day Monday. The pizza chain offers one topping for every Redskins touchdown every Monday and they’ll double it if they win. That meant customers could get 14 free toppings on Monday; and, yes, several pizza deliveries were made to Redskin Park. Giant spies: Two players who knew as much about Washington’s offense and defense last season now play for the Giants: linebacker Antonio Pierce and quarterback Tim Hasselbeck. Last season, Pierce used to call defensive signals; Hasselbeck served as an extra coach on the sidelines. And that will lead the Redskins to tweak their signals. “We’ve got to be careful,” Gibbs said. Hall saga: Another week, another round of optimism surrounding kicker John Hall. But a twist has surfaced: Dallas cut its kicker, Jose Cortez, Monday. The Cowboys, even after signing another kicker, could wait to see what the Redskins do with Nick Novak, who was in their camp this summer. The Redskins could be forced to make a decision on Novak this week. He’s 15 of 15 on extra points and five of seven on field goals. — John Keim

Who cares about free toppings when I have tons of coupons in a drawer from 8 pizza places for unlimited toppins on a large pizza? I wish we still had dominios offer where it came off the price of the pizza. Who took a big bribe from Papa John's? Blows!
Dalecitymike
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/8986874 None of them picked the Washington Redskins to win the NFC... I think they have a better chance at then Tampa Bay who lost their starting qb.
Jumbo
I hope we don't cut Novak just to see him go to Dallas. I hate helping those cowpies out ever.

oriolesfan93p
The papa johns pizza deal was a lie, they only can put 8 toppings on a pizza for it to cook right(so they said) but it was still a mighty fine meal last night, to be able to wait in line, discussing the great game with other ppl in the store, and to only be 8 bucks, that was awesome
KingGibbs
I'm telling you we need to keep Novak. I see another David Akers scenario playing out here. I also see Hall being another Brett Conway. Novak has NOT missed a field goal other than the two blocks. Enough with the "short kicks" argument to.
Beaudry
KingGibbs, what the hell are you talking about? Novak kicks the ball short. Sorry, it's just a fact. It is better for a kicker to kick it deeper. How can anybody possibly argue for Novak's short kickoffs? Novak was blocked twice in 7 attempts. The 2nd block was definately his fault with a very low kick. The first block was debatable as to whom should take the blame. Blocked kicks are worse than missed kicks because that return TD possibility. When healthy, Hall is a good deep kickoff guy who can kick long field goals and most importantly he has playoff experience and is a clutch kicker. dfbovey
I hope Hall is healthy and ready to go soon. He's definately a few notches better than Novak.

oriolesfan93p
heh, thing is, this years offense is completely different from last years offense, Hasselback won't be able to help them, and when we fail to sign someone like Pierce the I assume his loyalties change when he hits the field for the other team. But yes, I would love to see Hasselback on the field, unless of course its for the same reason Ramsey was on the field Sunday
