OldTownFan
Biggest game of the season coming up this week, we can't lose this game if we want to win the division. There are only 6 division games, and we can't go 3-3 and expect to win the NFC East. That means that we are going to have to sweep at least one of the division teams...of Dallas, New York, and Philadelphia...I hope it's both Dallas and New York... If the Redskins win we head to Philadelphia on a two game win streak and with a 5-2 record.. This game is as big as it gets, this is where the Redskins set the tone for who's going to be dominating who in the NFC East.

OldTownFan
How good are the Giants on offense and defense? Last time I checked their offense was ranked number one I believe in the NFL.... Can somebody chime in with a head to head match up, our defense against their offense and visa versa...
NoCalMike
3-3 against out division would actually be an improvement over previous years.......but yeah I see no reason AT THIS POINT, why we can't sweep the cowboys, at least SPLIT with the Eagles and Giants. TLusby
Bring on anyone! This team can beat anyone as long as we are even on the turnover ratio. Gibbs has them playing like his former teams. The Eagles lucked out big time on a blocked FG attempt and a poor turnover call by the officials in the last 1:30 of the game. His knee was down! The improvement from last year is not even in question anymore, now the team's focus should be on to bigger and better things, that being said, 3-3 isn't going to be good enough to cut it this year, or likely, for the next few seasons to come in the NFC East, if you want to compete for the NFC championship, you gotta be able to win your division, and the winner of this division is going to be at least 4-2 when it's all said and done. No_Pressure
According to NFL.com going into this week we were ranked 7th as an offense for total yards, New York was ranked 13th so we can add that... Offense Rank: Redskins- 7th Giants- 13th Offense Scoring: (as of last week, not factoring 52 points) Redskins- 25th Giants- 1st ----------------------------- Defense Rank: Redskins- 5th New York- 31 Defense PPG Allowed: Redskins- 8th New York- 23rd

Ignatius J.
I disagree. It's an away game. It would be great if we win, but it is not a must win game. We need to grab a few away games this year, but the must win games are the home games.
OldTownFan
This game is big but as long as we win our home division games then we will be fine. much easier said than done, plus if we lose, than that makes the home games must wins or not division title. If this team is going to be a playoff team, we need to win on Sunday, no other way to state it.

We need to grab a few away games this year, but the must win games are the home games. I disagree with that, we have NY and Philly, so your sayin its ok to go 0-2 and then go back to being 4-4? No way Jose, not if we want to be a playoff team.... This is about the playoffs, I know it's been awhile guys, but for the record, this is where the contenders step up. I think the big game for us the philly game, that will show where we are at. If we can go 3-2 in our next 5 games and be sitting at 7-4 we will be sitting pretty. I agree...a win in NY would be a major step in the right direction but it's not a MUST win to win the division. If we play our game and protect the ball, we should be in it late and hopefully we make the plays to win! It would be incredible for us to start 2-0 in the East with both wins on the road. OldTownFan
Guys, this is the NFC EAST. This division has so far this year, been the suprise division in the NFL, it is perhaps the toughest division in the league. Our division, sits now with the: Eagles 4-2 Redskins 4-2 and the Giants playing as I type 3-2 and the Cowboys playing as I type 3-2 If the Cowboys win and the Giants win, everybody is 4-2. How can this not dawn on you all how important this game is on Sunday? It truly is a must win.

However, if we win our home division games, we'll be 4-2 in the East...that's not great, but it's 3 games better than we've done in quite some time. OldTownFan
This 'it would be nice if we win' **** is just that, bull****. Why are people willing to settle for mediocracy? This is where PLAYOFF TEAMS ESTABLISH THEMSELVES, Hello...??? Even if the Giants and Cowboys lost today, and after this week our division sat such: Philadelphia 4-2 Washington 4-2 New York 3-3 Dallas 3-3 And we followed this 'it would be nice if we won yeah..but...' 'it would be nice to win the lotto yeah but...' type of mentality and what do we get? A loss, than this is what the division would look like Philadelphia 4-2 playing against Denver.... New York 4-3 Washington 4-3 Dallas 3-3 playing against Arizona... It must be that it's been so long some have forgotten what it's like to expect to win tough games...we need to learn to expect it, learn to expect to do great things, not settle for mediocracy.... Again, this is not about comparing this year to last year. If you haven't figured out we're better now your not watching the games. This is about the PLAYOFFS PLAYOFFS PLAYOFFS PLAYOFFS PLAYOFFS PLAYOFFS Can't be more clear. Playoff caliber teams don't say, it's important, but IF, we win our home games it's ok.... Playoff teams don't have those expectation levels, mediocre teams do. Playoff teams expect to win, view it as a must win, because they don't want to have to put themselves in a position of going 3-0 at home in the division.... Ignatius J.
To me, a must win game means that we should pack in the season if we lose. I disagree with that defeatist way of thinking. I think we're a better team than that and can still be a super bowl contender even with a loss.
Destino
BRING ON THE GIANTS!!!! They have gotten away with an insanely weak schedule so far. Meanwhile the skins have had the toughest in the NFCE. Time to take the division by force! :gaintsuck :point2sky
