I'm not sure a man at your age should get into a conversation that may last past the time to take your nightly pills. Did you consider the suckling thing yet?

I love you, man.

Let me know when you're ready to talk football...

And, you are just too funny!

Was it lucky when the Seahawks missed a game winning FG against the Skins? Of course not, becuase the Skins executed enough to make the FG a 45 yarder, rather than a more makeable distance.

Was it lucky when Roy Williams botched his coverage twice to allow Santana to score? Of course not. The Skins called the right play, executed well, and Brunell threw a great pass.

To call anything in the NFL luck simply reveals a low level of intelligence and an inability to conduct abstract thought.

The Eagles didn't allow SD to get a first down after Reid's miserable 4th and 1 play call. The FG was long, which allowed a lower trajectory on the kick. Those two things mean the Eagles executed well, and thus, were not lucky.

The fumble had nothing to do with luck. Sheldon Brown made a good play, and the refs made the right call. Heck it was reviewed and upheld. There is no reason to further discuss this point.

Was it lucky or unlucky when Greg Lewis was seperated from the ball, and the ball made a perfect bounce into a defenders hands, while we were already in the redzone?

Was it lucky or unlucky when Brian Westbrook lost his footing a yard shy of the first down marker when he certainly would have gained the first down had he not fallen?

Was it lucky or unlucky when McNabb took a sack in the first quarter to pull us out of field goal range?

I could go on and on like this for every game, for each team, every season, since the begining of organized football. There is no such thing as luck.

There is what happened, and what did not happen. Ultimately, the team that put themselves in the best position to win the game will win the game. When odd occurences happen (such as a blocked field goal) there are inevitably circumstances that precede the occurence which can be directly attributed to the beneficiary of the odd occurence. The Eagles defense manhandling the best player in the NFL is a perfect example here.

By the way, tr1... the fact that there are Eagles fans that agree with you is simply a falacious appeal to popularity. The fact that dumb Eagles fans exist has absolutely nothing to do with the circumstances that occured on Lincoln Financial Field yesterday afternoon.

Is there an asterisk by the Ravens SB victory in the NFL records? Of course not, though their treck to the SB was filled with odd occurences which many would call luck.

Great win. I can't wait till next week.

Yes, we dodged a bullet.

Was it lucky when Roy Williams botched his coverage twice to allow Santana to score? Of course not. The Skins called the right play, executed well, and Brunell threw a great pass.

It was a very frustrating game, but those weren't lucky...that's why we did it twice. Williams is so so in pass coverage.

To call anything in the NFL luck simply reveals a low level of intelligence and an inability to conduct abstract thought.

To deny that teams get lucky to win at times is foolish.

The Eagles didn't allow SD to get a first down after Reid's miserable 4th and 1 play call. The FG was long, which allowed a lower trajectory on the kick. Those two things mean the Eagles executed well, and thus, were not lucky.

The run back for a TD was lucky.

The fumble had nothing to do with luck. Sheldon Brown made a good play, and the refs made the right call. Heck it was reviewed and upheld. There is no reason to further discuss this point.

Except that his knee was down.

Was it lucky or unlucky when Greg Lewis was seperated from the ball, and the ball made a perfect bounce into a defenders hands, while we were already in the redzone?

Luck.

Was it lucky or unlucky when Brian Westbrook lost his footing a yard shy of the first down marker when he certainly would have gained the first down had he not fallen?

Running backs are expected to keep their feet.

Was it lucky or unlucky when McNabb took a sack in the first quarter to pull us out of field goal range?

Not sure if it was the o-lines fault or his...but definitely not luck.

I could go on and on like this for every game, for each team, every season, since the begining of organized football. There is no such thing as luck.

Okay...right.

There is what happened, and what did not happen. Ultimately, the team that put themselves in the best position to win the game will win the game. When odd occurences happen (such as a blocked field goal) there are inevitably circumstances that precede the occurence which can be directly attributed to the beneficiary of the off occurence. The Eagles defense manhandling the best player in the NFL is a perfect example here.

I agree...there are a lot of dumb Eagles fans.

His knee was down? What the hell are you talking about, tr1? You sir are a friggin idiot. What the hell are you watching? Knee was down? Why don't you crawl under that rock you came out from under. I don't understand how you could be such an ass in this discussion. YOU REFUSE to give credit on that play. YOu continue to distort the facts to suit your pathetic assertions. Again, at least bubba has class. You're an ass!!!

It's an absolute shame that this board has been hijacked by moronic dolts such as tr1. I have enjoyed the discussions here for years. Unfortunately, the board has gone the way of the yeti. You can't talk football with a pathological homer who doesn't even concede that the other 31 franchises in the league actually play and earn their wins.

TR1, you're a disgrace. As I stated before, you seek to become the centerpiece of this forum. Nothing more nothing less. You have molded yourself into a pseudo bubba without the football knowledge. It's not about scowering the net for endless articles on the birds. It's about football discussions. You completely relieve yourself of that fact. You simply make it up as you go. Welcome to your empire of dirt. King of the NFL forum on Extremeskins.com. I feel for your offspring.

Once again...can you disagree without name calling? I saw the replay...that's what I saw.

Did I call anyone a friggin idiot? Or an ass?

But....that's okay...I still love you, man.

And SD had the game in hand and gave it away.

Either you or someone else in this topic said the same exact thing earlier. Is anyone else really uncomfortable with that statement? The Eagles had the lead for 3 quarters of football. Why wasn't it them who "let" the chargers come back, before going on to win the game? You saying that implies that the Chargers were in control of the situation throughout the game. Which they were not.

BTW. The ball did a vertical 180 in his hand before his knee came down and the ball came out. He did not lose total contact with the ball until after his knee was down, but he was no longer in control of it before he was down. That is the rule, and that is a fumble.

I got the game on tivo since I didn't get to see it live. I've slowed down the networks slow motion view, and that looked to be what happened after I viewed it several times.

You probably saw the play once or twice on ESPN Primetime.

Phan..atic...

You must have me confused with someone else.

Is it important that you resort to personal attacks?

I know you love your team, but when one brings a bit of objectivity to the scene, one is subjected to continued torment...when will it stop.

Please, as I've asked you before, use that ignore button...you'll feel better...and so will I.

You did call a lot of Eagles fans dumb a few replies ago. Your retort will be "well its true, so its okay to say". Then my retort will be "Then how does this explain your Jeremiah Trotter topic, where you said it wasn't okay for him to say LaDainian was a better runner and Westbrook a better reciever, even though that is true?" I haven't thought ahead to your response after that, fill me in when you get a chance.

When YOU actually ACHIEVE a MODERATOR staus here I'll respect your wishes. Until then, YOU are NOTHING MORE that a blowhard who doesn't even have the ability to recognize a fumble unless it benifits the Skins. I have RECEIVED MANY PM's from the MODERATORS here thanking me for my contributions in these DISCUSSIONS.

What part of that don't you understand? Your play is tired. Sophmoric at best. Why must you be impossible on these discussions? You see, there are no discussions when you simply downplay EVERYTHING non-Skins. Get it?

Oh and screw your "I Love You man, put me on ignore". I earned my spot on this board. EARN YOURS!!!!

Ok, so I type out a well reasoned response to your numerous rants, each of which are devoid of any evidence of reasoning, and you respond simply by restating all that you had previously said? That is very frustrating. I know I know, I can ignore you if I wish, don't bother saying it.

You say the Skins won luckily against the Seahawks. I think everyone on this board knows that you say this now only because it fits into your argument against the Eagles. You would never state this in any other circumstance.

I agreed that the completions against Williams weren't luck. You offered nothing new to my assertion.

To deny that there exist plays which involve luck is foolish. To attribute the results of an entire game to one such play, well, that is truly foolish.

Ok, so you admit that the blocking of the field goal was not luck, something you previously did not admit. And now, it is only the return that is lucky. What about the wall of blockers that escorted Matt Ware into the endzone? Was it chance that put them in the best possible position to allow him to score?

Learn the rules of the NFL. The stripping motion had begun, and the ball had clearly began its course to being fumbled before the knee touched. If you are unwilling to admit this as clearly a fumble under the rules of the NFL, then you are too biased to converse with any further.

You admit that the Chargers interception was luck. This contradicts your belief that the Eagles victory was a result of luck. Had that ball bounced in any other direction and fallen incomplete, the Eagles may have scored and the game would have been completely different. Its not as if every break went the Eagles way... you are simply choosing to focus only on those that support your very narrow and naive belief.

Runningbacks are expected to keep their feet. The announcers mentioned during the game that the area he slipped on looked to be a problem, and it seemed the turf gave out on him. That is a result of chance occurence, in other words, luck. I do not use this as an excuse, only as evidence that chance occurences go both ways, and have a way of evening out.

If you don't feel that chance occurences are evident in every game, I really don't know what to say to you. Cute emoticon though, I'm glad we are conversing intelligently.

SD had the game in hand and gave it away. OK , so did the Eagles. Did you watch the first half? We had thoroughly dominated every aspect of the game, didn't put the nail in the coffin, and gave it away.

It figures you would retort to my accusation of a falacious argument simply by stating that there are many dumb Eagles fans. Someone takes their time to make a correct accusation of your inability to properly formulate an argument, and you waste their time with a meaningless pot shot. Go figure.

I don't expect everyone to agree with my posts...these are just my opinons. Nothing personal...really.

The Trotter quote was unusal...at least I thought so.

The Chargers were leading and driving for another score...with a few minutes remaining.

The Eagles pulled this one out with luck...it's nothing to be ashamed of...it just happened.

This has already been explained to you.

The Eagles shut down LT all game long. Their drive where they had to kick a field goal instead of getting 6, being a part of that. Now you do not live in Philadelphia, so not all of this information is not easily available to you. However some of it was also said on ESPN, via the press conference last night with Quintin Mikell and Matt Ware. So you don't get a total complete pass. Quintin Mikell said that they were watching film and noticed a weakness in the way the Chargers TE lined up to block for the kick team. The exploited this weakness that they saw in the film room. Mikell had the forsight to ask John Harbaugh to call a play where he ran in for this block on this particular play. I cite Matt Ware's guest appearence on Comcast Sports Net Philadelphia today for that particular peice of information.

Now having said all that, we can gather that this play was not just "luck". They saw a weakness in the film room and exploited it. For you to dismiss that as luck, is an insult to the scheme, coaching staff, and players of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Now if your "luck" dimissal of the Eagles victory is/also in reference to Sheldon Browns so called controversial turnover in your opinion... For my reasons stated above in a previous post, it was the correct call first off. Making it Sheldon Browns third straight big time turnover in his last three games. For you to call his skill luck, is an insult to him. He is having a pro-bowl year incase you haven't noticed.

I didn't bring up dumb Eagles fans...

As to the replay, I saw it once...I thought his knee was down...

And SD was dominating at the end of the game...and you won't even talk about that fourth down call by AR because it was bad...but that's okay.

And as to my ability to formulate an argument, I'll let your patronizing pass...

Discuss football? You continually bait everyone non-skins into some ridiculous argument over nothing. Whats left to debate? the Eagles were lucky. That wasnt a fumble and the Eagles have had the luxury of a week division. Game, set, match. Nothing left to discuss. The great TR1 has spoken.

What the hell do you expect from anyone? I might as well be discussing football with a crack whore. What don't you understand here? The fumble was a fumble, CLEARLY!!! the greatness that is TR1 says otherwise. End of discussion.

You need Eagle fans in this forum, otherwise you cease to exist. it must suck waking every morning knowing that your life revolves around badgering eagles fans on a message board.
