CHUBAKAH Posted October 22, 2005 Share Posted October 22, 2005 I searched the forum but didn’t find anything, so excuse me if it has been posted. :cough: If it is somewhere, you guys did a great job of hiding it from us. :security: There is a feature as a Direct NFL ticket subscriber that lets you select a season pass to a little treasure they call “Redskins Shortcut” I was trying to set up my TIVO machine to record anything I found Skins. So last week it recorded, and last night I decided to check it out to see what it was all about. I turn it on, and the first thing I see is the kickoff, and the second the play ends it goes to the next play, and the next, and the next, and does this until the end of the first quarter at which point there is a graphic that gives you the quarter stats. :thumbsup: Anyway, just wanted to share this with you because for me, this new little feature means a lot for guys like myself, SkinsFanatic, and or CrazyZeb or any of you others that like to play around with video editing. Although I do not have a tivo machine hooked to my puter, I can already smell the fresh scent of pine from the drill running cable this weekend. Now, if I can just find someone to run me a cable from DC to Nor Cal so I can get the local shows. Enjoy! That'll cost you $239 for the NFL-ST PLUS $99 for the Superfan. While ST is worth it to see the Skins every week, I find the extra cost to be a little ridiculous. I completly agree, and also think that outside of the HD feature that you ONLY get now with the Superfan, IMHO it Blows. I guess it would be good for bookies, and betting places, but as a fan of a team, just yuck. I got the price dropped this season because I have had direct tv for a long time, and I believe a lot of people complained this year and got that same deal. I hope they just get rid of the superfan, and go back to where it was, and give us ALL HDTV. Mr. Snyder, if you happen to stumble upon this thread, we know it's the NFL doing this, and not Direct TV, so cut us some slack. I've been a member over there since I bought my first TiVo back in 2000. I may be the last person in the USA to NOT have HD yet, but I've got four TiVos. IMO, they should give the HD package to all of the long-time subscribers to NFL-ST. I've been a subscriber to ST since 1995. It goes up EVERY year, and while I will always buy it just so I can see Skins games, the price increases ARE getting out of hand! It was $119 back in 1995. BTW -- NFL-ST, TiVo, and Sirius radio go VERY well together! I am able to sync up Sonny and Sam perfectly with TiVo. That way, I don't have to listen to idiots like Bill Maas, and Moose and Goose and all of the other John Madden wannabes over on FOX. I just wish there was a way to get the rear surround channels from the TV broadcast for the surround effect and yet turn off the announcers in favor of Sonny and Sam! Well if you would have called retention and did a little ****ing you would have gotten the ST plus superfan for a lot less. I ended up with the superfan for free and got one of their HD-Tivo's for cheap when I complained. Plus they sent me a letter saying that they are paying for next years Superfan. If it wasn't for that i would be ordering my sunday ticket from my new BellVu Express service which sells it for quite a bit cheaper. The shortcuts are cool, but I don't save them since they aren't in HD. Next year there will be no satellite blackouts on games that are being shown on your local channel, so that's a plus but it does make you wonder if that will led to a new increase in the price. For the price they are charging (including the Superfan), ALL of the features including shortcuts should be HD!!! BTW, I disagree with the poster that said it is NFL causing the Superfan to be required for HD. (Well, it is NFL indirectly). DirecTV paid HUGE $$ to get the ST package renewed, and this is one of their ways to still make disgusting profits even after paying so much in licensing fees.
