flippo07
I just realized something about the Plummer incident and Im not sure if this has been brought up yet. If they ruled that an incomplete pass then it still should of been a fumble because it was a backwards pass...... Any ideas on this?

flippo07
yeah about a dozen threads already started about it, many on the first page Ignore the tuck rule for a second. This was an incomplete pass but an incomplete pass cannot go backwards, so then this would of been a fumble. I dont think this has been mentioned but since there are a million posts on this it might of been.
FootballGuy2677
Get use to the tuck rule. It robbes everybody. Without out it the patriots wouldnt be a dynasty and wed be 4-0 and americas team right now. P.S BENGALS=FAKE COUGH COUGH....
flippo07
but my point is that the tuck rule shouldnt of even taken affect. considering it was a backwards pass and that no redskins player touched him or hit the ball out of his hands. i dont know i might be wrong on this... MontanaSkins
I think the "tuck rule" trumps anything else that happens on the play. In other words if I am the official and I enforce the tuck rule, that is it play is over, imcomplete pass, everything else that happened on the play didn't happen. From what I have seen over the years the call was consistant to other tuck rule situations. Now I do think it is a bad rule, but that is another topic. mawapa
Another play stuck in my craw... If plumber had picked the ball up, and instead of being tackled for a safety, had thrown a 100 yard td pass... would they still have called the tuck rule...???
