trez
As nice as the two TD's were, the skins moved up and down the field yet were still not able to put up more than 20 points. I'm sorry, when you put up that many yards, you need more points to show for it. I'm feeling much better about our offense in general, but the lack of rushing TD's and and the inability to score TD's consistently has me a little concerned. whitejimmy
You're sorry?!? You mean it's your fault! You ****, you are holding back our offense! Seriously, though, you are on to something. This is the limitation of our offense right now. Scoring in the red zone. The offense is generally built to stretch the field by having 2 smaller, speed burners as WRs. The ability to stretch the field doesn't do any good inside the 20. I like Gibbs solution of using Sean Taylor to replace Patten. I guess ST's shoulder injury kept him out of that formation. Jimbo
The fact that the offense is able to move at will means the points WILL start to come. I'm sure we'll start seeing some different play calls by Gibbs and better decisions by Brunell inside the red zone as the season goes on. You can bet it WILL be addressed this week and going forward. PotomaSkinsFan
what hurts us in the red zone, in my opinion, is our lack of size in the recieving corps. Maybe we should put jacobs and/or thrash in down there for patten. But with a quarterback who can move the pocket and a good tight end it doesnt really make sense that we dont score more in the red zone.
illone
Potoma, We did have Jacobs in the game at one point. He dropped a pass on the 2 yd line if I remember correctly.
jabronijames
Fear not, young man. I am sure they will get things together and learn how to score. Remember the year the Ravens won the superbowl (they lost to the skins that year by the way...) they didn't score a touchdown until week 7. So don't worry. Touchdowns are wonderful and it sure would be nice to score one on every posession, but the lack of them is no real reason for concern yet. Seriously, we lost this weekend not because of the lack of touchdowns. I believe we lost this weekend because the Broncos' offense played better than our defense. It happens sometimes. No worries... jabronijames
We're missing Clint Didier. That guy was the MAN! We'll get it, guys...we'll get it.
GrimReefa
This is a legitimate point...but remember, last year we weren't moving the ball at any point on the field. So this is a big improvement. If it continues to improve, the points will start to come. Another thing to remember, though. This offense, when successful, grinds odwn the clock. So we won't be seeing 40 points on the scoreboard, unless everything goes our way.
