jbooma
My wife and I were screaming at the TV when we thought Mark had room to run for that 2 point then pass for it. Bubba or anyone who has the game on TIVO can you let me know. I didn't know if one of the LB's were there to prevent him from running.

Brown 43
No-way, LB's are toooooo fast and would have stopped him.

He might have been able to make it to the corner.
Blondie
Looking at it over and over.......I don't see him being able to make it across the goal. I do see him however, being hit.......hard in the process of trying. Blondie

barefoot
The LB Gold was directly in front of him on the goal line covering Cooley. I was yelling "run" at the TV also in live action, but on replay, he'd never have made it.
Bang
Ian Gold was right in front of him,, he'd have gotten him. Brunell made the proper play,, Patten was WIDE open,, Gold was just in the way and made the play. ~Bang
FBChick
No way.. Brunell had over 8 yards to cover before crossing the line to Gold's 3. Gold would have knocked him out. Even if Royal was able to react quick enough to block out Gold.. there was still 2 DBs in waiting in that corner. If Brunell was a few years younger and a whole lot bigger... then maybe, just maybe But Brunell of today.. no way!
Mooney
He would have made it. If he had just pumped, he had Gold in the air and would've frozen the DB...... It would have been tight though.
GrimReefa
It looked awful close. But Patten was so wide open he had to make that throw. Just wish he had seen the LB and put a tad more air under it...
Chants
If if and buts were fruits and nuts, it would be Christmas every day. Brunell made the best call under the circumstances.
Monk4theHall81
My thinking is if Robert Royal would have got out of his break without slipping he would have cleared Ian Gold out of the way. If you watch the replay and checks down towards the end and then releases, as he releases he slips, that extra step or two would have gave Brunell the room to make the throw. But... Brunell could have run it in...easy

BlitzFiftySix
I agree with Monk on this one. If either of the LB's that were patrolling the endzone release from their coverage to pursue Brunell he simply could have flipped the ball to the now wide open receiver. Spilled milk though. Along with the offsides on the FG and the safety. I'm still very proud of the team. I think they played a terrific game on the road against a pretty solid Bronco squad. Samuels
He could have ran it in i've watched it over and over. I was screaming in joy when he started to boot because I thought he was running it but that quickly turned to upset curse words. I am so negative watching my Skins and always expect the worst. The game completly ruined my night nobody could talk to me I was a complete jerkoff. I think he could have turned it up inside of Gold and I think he could have also ran it to the corner MB can move all he would had to do was dive with the ball extended. He made the right decision though Patten was wide open. Brunell has played outstanding and made me look like a fool spouting off about his play. Its obvious your only has good has your supporting cast.
dieselfan44
I was screaming the same thing....I think he's in. I don't think you think about injury at that point you just try to make a play. Not to say he made a mistake, I trust his judgement. He had an open man, went for it, but Gold made a nice deflection. He played to nice of a game to criticize him. RDSKNfaithfull
Brunell could have put a move on him one on one and scored no problem Cooley would have slowed Gold up a bit.
DCMONEY
My buddies think he shoulda ran too. I personally thought it was a good try on his part because Patten was wide open. Hell if Brunell woulda ran and got tackled then we woulda said he shoulda thrown it. It was good try. LB just luckily put his hand up and deflected it. Zguy28
I thought he had a lane to the corner of the endzone as well.
