supafly
Bailey? Pierce? Trotter? Davis? Another? Personally I would have loved to still have Davis...he seems better fitted to Gibb's smashmouth, power football.
pez
Pierce - Smartest player Bailey got burned on big plays all the time. Trotter was a malcontent Davis only has a couple-several years left..

Stew
If we still had Stephen Davis then we would also still have Champ due to no blockbuster trade. We would be twice as scary right now in that situation.
Stew
Yeah I'll give a lot of credit to pierce, he was the equivalent of payton as a defense general. Marshall is doing just as good, someone mentioned it during the game yesterday. Pierce is/was overrated and Im glad we didnt pay him what he was asking. I think Greg Williams could put a blind, def, quadrapalegic back at middle linebacker and have them do the things Pierce, and Marshall are doing. Obviously it is the coach and his defense and not the individual player.

dfbovey
Pierce. Simply because the fall off from him to Marshall is greater than any of those other players compared to their replacements.
FBChick
Pierce - Our D would look exactly like last years D with Pierce and we would have won Seattle convincingly and beat denver easily. Bailey would have been fun, but not a whole heck of a lot of change overall. Trotter never could have run a Williams D. Davis would make an impact on the Offense.. but I'm not sure it would have resulted in points on the board
Redskins Reparations
Smoot was a tough loss for me. He was tough as nails and great in the locker room. One of the great Redskins in recent years IMO. Carlos Rogers seems to be the hybrid form of Smoot and apologize to the coaching staff for wanting Mike Williams over Rogers. In Gibbs I Trust
ChampSkinsFanatic
Smoot, Bailey, Davis, or Gardner cant really decide. I cant believe how overrated Antonio Pierce is
sknsgirl
Although I think Pierce was a tough loss, I miss Davis the most, and that's something I've thought about many times, how well he would fit into Gibbs' offense. Plus, he was just such a warrior and a Redskin kind of guy. I was glad to see him do well in Carolina since, like most everyone else around here (other than Spurrier), we all knew he still had a lot left in him. I don't miss Bailey at all b/c he started trashing the Redskins even before he left, so if he didn't want to be here, good riddance. Smoot, I miss, too, but if Williams didn't feel we needed him, I'll stick by him.
Moz Wanted
i would take davis but iam fine with portis portis is only 24 years old he should have been a rookie last year julious jones is older then him so lets think like portis was a rookie last year since e had to adjust to a new system a rookie who had 7tds and 1300+ yards in 14 games hmmm seems pretty good
Warhead36
Probably Antonio Pierce. We could put Marshall back at WLB and get rid of trash Holdman.
TASPM
Although Lamar Marshall is doing a fantastic job, i would have to say Trotter, he would solidify the middle linebacker spot. Then i would retain baily, imagine our backfield... then Pierce, then Davis... we have portis, why would we need davis...
H-O-G
Portis is fine, we dont need Davis. I would say Pierce.
SkinzWin88
There are three guys I would want back: Smoot, Pierce, and Stephen Davis. Pierce was money and he anchored our defense last year. In spite of Wasington's great year, I was surprised he made the Pro Bowl and not Pierce. Smoot was a shut-down corner and could single-cover better than any Redskin since Darrell Green. Stephen Davis could be running between the tackles right now and doing things that Portis can't in this system. I think the Redskins would be 4-0 right now and on the way to 6-0 with that crew. Mooka
Pierce, he was great last year, so great that the 1 year got him a big contract. Stephen Davis was great but since we let him go he's yet to have a fully healthy season. I don't wanna take anything away from him because he's worked so hard to come back from these injuries but he's a liability.
method man
Pierce, hands down. You've heard Schottenheimer and Williams. He is one of the smartest guys in the NFL. His brains were a big reason for why we were amazing on D last year.
Tonerman
Pierce. I shudder to think what the Giants are going to do to us with his knowledge although the offense has been revamped almost completely.
