Boss_Hogg
Anyone see the final score of the Pack/Saints game on October 9th? That is absurd, 52-3? In the third quarter the pack were winning 35-3 and yet they were still throwing in the end zone! I only thought Steve Inferior would be the a$$-clown to run up a score on a wounded team like the Saints. To me this was crap on the Packers part, the Saints have been through too much B.S. I was not amuzed. No, the Packers should not LET the Saints win or make it a close game, but in my opinion there is no need to run up the score when the game is clearly a blow-out. :packsuck:
Guest sith lord
The Packers will probably need every point they can get to make it to the playoffs.
Boss_Hogg
The Packers will probably need every point they can get to make it to the playoffs. But this is not the BCS where points scored, points allowed, and strength of schedule determine where you get placed in the post season and if you look at the NFC North, there is not much competition. True, sometimes tie-breakers are determined over points scored, but I just do not think that this blow-out was needed for the Pack this early into the season. rebornempowered
I was thinking the same thing. Good opportunity to get their rookie some snaps. That's almost as bad as chop blocking from "victory formation".
Leonard Washington
i have three reasons for packer behavior. 1. it's not the offense's job to stop itself. it's the opposing defense's. 2. they are 0-4...these guys need some confidence. 3. points scored is one of the tiebreakers. Walking Deadman
Did Rogers take any snaps in the game? He ought to, Favre's in his twlight........
Y100Rocks
Stop it if you don't like it. I don't really care for the packers, but I don't change my general stance based on that.
spanishomelette
Running the ball to finish off the game makes sense. However, when you're an 0-4 team lacking confidence, you're probably worried about a comeback which would be a colossal downer. The Saints have or at one time had the ability to come back from big deficits.
laurent
You realize the packers lost Davenport in the game and were without Green already right?

panel
3. points scored is one of the tiebreakers. As long as this is true, EVERY team should try to score often and score big. Ties at the end of a football season are not un common, and This has happened before. It could be that we end up in a tie breaker situation where we get screwed because we are a Defensive team with not a lot of points.

Kevin101
I never knew it was bad for a team to keep scoring, with 2 of their best offensive players already out (Green and Walker)
Boss_Hogg
I never knew it was bad for a team to keep scoring, with 2 of their best offensive players already out (Green and Walker) Not bad, but tastless, especially to an already wounded franchise, the Saints have had to put up with so much BS...Idono, I just did not think it was cool, I'm also a big Aaron Brooks fan so maybe that is why I am the only one on this board who thought the savage beating was uncalled for. KcChiefs31
I never really understood the whole: "OMG guyz, you can't run up the score, that's unsportsmanlike, n00b" If you've got a ****ing problem with a team running up the score on you then you stop them. If you can't stop them then they should be able to run the score up on you all day long. I don't care if it's the Saints. Sure, a hurricane came and destroyed their town and homes, I feel bad for them. But that isn't an excuse to go easy on them on Sundays. If I ever become the coach of a Texas Tech or Miami college team or anything, I will run up the score every chance I get, sportsmanship be damned. Idono, I've always displayed good sportsmanship when I used to play...and I was always coached to be aggressive, passionate yet respectful, to my oppenent(s) at all times. If I ever scored a goal or a TD, I would not hop around like TO, Icky Woods, or Ernest Givens, I would act like I've "been there before." Idono, I guess I am old fashioned.
