Redskins are good...not great.

PREDICTOR

The Redskins are not a great team. They will not make the playoffs for this reason. How do I know they are not a great team? Because they are losing in every game they play.

Great teams fall behind occasionally....but they are not trying to come from behind every single week. In all 4 games this year. the Redskins have been losing and tried to come from behind. That may work occasionally, but if you intend to make the playoffs and win a division....sorry Charlie....ain't gonna happen. Their QB gives the ball up EVERY game...and the defense is incapable of being a takeway defense.....except for 1 or 2 games per year.

Philly and Dallas will still beat the Redskins out this year, and because the Skins can't seem to stop the pass and have no pass rush....New York and Manning might just destory us.

For year 10 in a row....I am begging the Redskins to start drafting defensive ends who can rush the QB. I get tired of seeing QB's go back and sit for 5 seconds and complete those 3rd down passes. Its frustrating. I'll keep touting that the Redskins have a weak pass rush until somebody on that team wakes up.

Winning teams GET TO THE QB....and winning teams TAKE THE BALL AWAY. All that starts with a pass rush....and the Skins haven't had one for a long time. Maybe thats why only 1 playoff appearance in 12 years.

Good to have a close game at the 2 minute warning....everybody will say that Gibbs is a genius and the Skins are respectable......but I wouldn't pay those outrageous ticket prices to sit and watch a close game in a 16 game season, that ends with no playoff. Its obvious to me that drafting receivers and QB's and cornerbacks isn't working. You win with defense and the Skins don't have and have never had a AWESOME defense....that teams fear because the defense takes the ball away and scores.

Start drafting defensive end.....and next time you draft somebody with the 3rd pick of the draft....you really need to play him instead of giving him a 60 million dollar contract and sitting him on the bench. 60 million dollar men should be able to tackle a running back BEFORE he can go 60 yards for a TD.

Thats why they make 60 million dollars!

Ahhh....Jake Plummer was 10/25 for 92 yards. That sounds like stopping the pass to me, whaddya think, gomer?

The Skins completely dominated this game, except for two plays. They messed up big time on the two plays, but other than that, they dominated this game. That's why all the Denver trolls are apologetic and telling us "good game" instead of being all trollish. They know. That's why on the Chiefs board they are frightened of this team. I guarantee you they won't miss tackles like that for the rest of the year. Williams' will have them running and tackling until they can't see straight this week.

This team went into Denver and played a very good Denver team, and pretty much did whatever they wanted to do on their "vaunted" defense. They blew 6 points, turned the ball over leading to a Denver score, and were still an inch away from sending the game into overtime. If you can't see that this team is leaps and bounds from where it was last year, then you my friend are blind as a bat. You will see when we dominate KC how good this team really is. And after we man-handle the 49ers and are 5-1, you'll hopefully see the light. This team is very good.

It is true that we need to get to the QB more often. And It has been a problem for us over the years. We can and will score on KC,but we will have to play a absolute close to solid game on defense. With the way things are at this moment,KC score 21 points or more and they may win. Be great If we can put them away early. :helmet:

I agree that the Skins are not a great team, but do you see a great team in the NFL this year?

I agree with some of your points. I would have been drafting and building differently, but it looks like Joe Gibbs finally has the offense contributing...and not a moment too soon because offenses around the league are learning how to handle pressure defenses like ours.

I'd like our playoff chances much better if we had John Hall back healthy and Andy Groom back punting. Our kicking game is too shaky to win the tight games consistently.

This is now a league of parity. Many Redskins 'fans', like the person who started this thread, don't follow enough football to understand that. So called 'dominant' teams thrive in divisions where injuries or bad coaching plague other division rivals. We're a different franchise now. Barring key injuries, we can be expected to win on any given Sunday. We haven't been able to say that for more than a decade.

You are an idiot. In the Bears game the Redskins were ahead to start the second half, fumbled the second half kickoff which Chicago scored to take the lead, the REdskins then drove down the field on 15 plays and took the lead back....behind..no

Seattle game, Washington was ahead pretty much the whole game. Seattle scored with 1 minute left to tie...Washington won in OT.

Watch the games before you spew your idiocy

I think it's pretty obvious that this thread was started to get a rise out of some people, and I expect it will. There's no way this guy can be serious. There's not point in his rant that can't be argued and defeated. He's either really ignorant, or really successfull at making people react

Skins aren't great yet, but they've improved tremendously and are getting better every week. We're still only 1 season and 4 games into Gibbs' return. How about having a little patience Predictor. This is Joe Gibbs we're talking about here.

i don't think we are great either. i think we are where we are rignt now...coming off a loss. we had plenty of close games we lost last year and we turned out not to be a playoff football team. this year we lost one of those games and won 3. we are WORLDS better offensively but the defense is starting to show some weaknesses with injuries but they are still the better unit. how we respond in KC is going to mean alot. the season isn't over if we lose, but we definately got to bring the same competitiveness we showed in denver yesterday.

Um, winning teams have winning records. 3-1 is an example of such a record. Questions?

Funny watching redskin fans say that for all intensive purposes, your 3-1 record "Speaks for itself".

Last season, your 6-10 record wasn't the truth...right?

Records in the nfl are relative. You're 3-1, with one win against the Bears (at home no less), a miracle win against us in Dallas (hell of a comeback though), and a win against the mediocre Seahawks (Note: The seahawks went 8-8 last year, we beat them, they were and still are nothing more than mediocre).

Now, the Oakland Raiders are 1-3, (Yes, I realize their only win is against us), however, their three losses are to Philly, KC, and New England.

Which team is better? The 1-3 Raiders who have 3 losses against super bowl caliber teams, or the 3-1 Redskins with two wins against mediocre clubs and a miracle last minute win after 50 minutes of sucking?

I'll take the Raiders any day.

Last season, your 6-10 record wasn't the truth...right?

You'll get killed next week in KC.

Super Bowl caliber teams? New England is on the downfall. The real Kansas City has shown up (the team with no defense). They got crushed by Denver (who the Redskins only lost by 2 points to) and they blew a big lead against Philly. I think Philly scored something like 27 unanswered?

Don't try to use the schedule as an excuse for the Raiders. They can't stop anybody from scoring. However, we'll see come Nov. 20th who's better, Raiders or Redskins? I'll take the Redskins.

Although a pass rush is important, it is not our lack of such a rush that prevents us from being great.

What prevents us from being great and dominant is simple: Mistakes. Mistakes such as fumbles, which have nothing to do with a pass rush. Blocked field goals, which have nothing to do with a pass rush. Untimely penalties, which have nothing to do with a pass rush.

Those mistakes can be eliminated, now. We are wrking on that. And if they were eliminated before game one, we would have dominated our opponents this season.

I agree a good pass rush would be desireable. But it absence is not the main reason we are not dominating. Stupid mistakes are.

I agree somewhat and disagree somewhat.

We aren't a great team yet. We're a good, solid team that can hang with anyone as long as we don't shoot ourselves in the foot.

We aren't good enough at this point where we can make mistakes or play below our talent level and still win consistently. It will happen sometimes(Week 2 in Dallas)but it won't consistently.

We look a lot like 8-8 just as I thought, however I think we can reach the 9-7 threshold if we keep improving, maybe 10-6 if we can get lucky with injuries(which so far look like they're starting to bite us now).

Can't wait to see Philly vs Dallas in Philly....we'll find out if you guys are real or not then eh.

Plus, want to discuss Dallas. We held you to 13 and then toasted you with 2 bombs....guess you beating Philly just proves we're a much better than the "fluke" or "miracle" win that you speak of, eh.
