F Landry
You can say it was our defense. You can say that our offense needs to put more points on the board. You can cursed Nick Novak... You can even say it was the referees... But, the bottom line is, if we had signed a decent veteran free-agent kicker, we would have won the game. We would have beat a good team, and advanced to 4-0. Its our fault for signing Nick in the first place! What were we thinking signing a rookie kicker? There has got to be a better free-agent kicker out there, I know there is. We played a great game guys, keep your heads up. :helmet:

terpfan
I dont get it. What did Nick do wrong? He had a kicked block? It may have been a little low but the Broncos also pentrated pretty deep and got lucky with the hadn they threw up. Hell, he hit that 54 yarder that was erased. That wasnt his faulkt, and he hit another 40 some yarder. I dont see how this was Novaks faulk.
scruffylookin
You are joking right? Novak hit the 54 yarder that was nulified by the false start. He was 2 for 2 on his other FGs. Yeah, he got a kick blocked again, but I'm not sure I see how having a veteran kicker changes that. :whoknows: Novak has been a pleasant surprise so far. Brave
Kickers are not as plentiful as you may think. Otherwise, I doubt very seriously our arch-enemies would be sticking with Jose Cortez after their kicker got injured. You can point to many little things to hang this loss on. We just didn't get it done. Accept it. We're getting there, but we're not there yet. Maybe next year we win a game like this. Last year we would have lost by 11. Da_Truth
no... the bottom line is we need to sustain drives by running on 3rd and 2 and 3rd and 1 and not passing. But its over. So just get over it. We hung in there with the broncos with 2 of our starting corners out.

Walking Deadman
Are you high? Nick had good kickoffs, assisted in another tackle (that hurt him). Made a 53yd FG today in poor weather conditions, that was taken off b/c of a false start. Blocked kick was not his fault today....Line's fault and a good push by Denver. Onside kicks never seem to work.

Ignatius J.
While I would say that it might not be fair to jump on the coaches for not being able to find a great replacement, Novak has not been acceptable. No kicker should have kicks blocked two weeks in a row with the penetration we have been getting. Two weeks in a row means novak has a problem, and one that should be fixed sitting at home while we bring in another kicker. I don't blame the coaches, because he might really have been the best option, but now it's a gots to go situation.

Teller
OK, I don't know if some of Nick's kicks are coming out a little low leading to the two blocks, but even if they are, that's the ONLY criticism I have so far. He did a great job on kickoffs today, hit two FGs; hit the game winner (twice) last week. And sticks his head in there to make REAL tackles! I almost wish he'd think about his safety first after that shot today, but his "tackle" on that last kickoff in Dallas might have saved the game. The kid is tough, gritty, passionate, talented, and will do anything to help this team. And I don't usually say things like that about kickers. Lay off Nick "The Kick."
