Not trying to offend you but, your personal favorite aint the real #56. The real # 56 is LA's hero--- Lawrence Taylor :notworthy However, you did get Ronnie Lott right... The best ever. Dah-Dee
Yeah, LT owns 56, he's the reason Arrington wanted the number, dude's his idol for a reason -- arguably the best LB ever. Lavar's got a long way to go to be part of that conversation. I'm guessing Steve Largent might like to be considered when talking about #80. Ax
I really like LaVar. I hope he gets his mind right so he can help us be even more dominant than we are. But, he will never be better than LT. Not even in the same ballpark. I was sure hoping he would be when we first got him. But LT was one of a kind. Besides, just going by Redskins, LaVar has yet to take over from the best #56 to date. Len Hauss. #42 - Charley Taylor.

I was actually thinking about Charley at #42...you've got to have best offensive and best defensive players to wear certain numbers. Obviously there won't be any defensive players with #80...although Troy Brown did play some D last year!

I think I might have been to quick to "honor" a childhood player I loved and totally missed Jerry. As for Alvin Garrett, he had a great 82 playoff run after Art got hurt, but I think I'll stick with Terry Orr (though he too wore 87 for a couple of seasons). SlaVe
i was thinking ronnie lott for 42 defensively - i mean this guy was like a mack truck on any given second, if u had the ball on his half or zone u would have been drove on. it was like watching amzing hit videos when he would play. curious who was it that started the rule no head to head contact? ronnie did that im sure of it. ok well not completely but seems like a can recall many head to head shots with helmets flying
