Dead Money
Unless we can get a First and Third for Ramsey, it's not worth it. :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
ntotoro
...we could have kept Timmy H as our back-up, Campbell at 3, and gotten a number 1 or 2 pick for Ramsey from some team. Even the most desperate of team won't be willing to give up a #1 or #2 for Patrick at this point in-time. Even Miami is probably saying "thank God we didn't make that deal" right now. The Full Monty
EXACTLY!! No way he can be traded now. I fully expect a trade after the season is over. And it is a shame we can not trade him now, because with the Jets' current situation we could demand and get MUCH more than we will be able to after the season ends. But we simply can not leave OUR cupboard bare, especially after a good start to the season. wish we still had Timmay!
Neophyte
This is one of those "rock and a hard place" deals. Rock = Ramsey's value will never be higher (most likely) than it is right now. This due to the law of supply and demand. The Jets need a starting caliber QB and they need it right now. In the off season there will be other guys floating around and available. Right now all they can chose from are guys who got shown the door late in camp (Palmer, Quinn, King, etc) and guys who ended up retiring because no one wanted them (Vinny). None of those options are great so the Jets are desperate and that raises Ramsey's value. Also factor in that he is under contract for next year as well so you are getting almost 2 full seasons out a guy you traded for. Hard Place = The Skins have a rookie in the 3rd spot who have to move into the 2nd spot if Ramsey left and would likely see playing time this year as it is rare for a starting QB to go the whole season these days unless his name is Favre. With a 2-0 start and the defense playing lights out again it is not real responsible of the team to consider trading it's best insurance policy for a Brunell injury. Add to that Gibbs being less than exciting about playing rookies, especially rookie QBs. Conclusion = Unless the Jets were to make an offer that was obviously over valued for Ramsey this is not likely to happen regardless of what Ramsey or his agent might want. themurf
I'm hearing from an inside source that Patrick Ramsey wants to be traded to the Jets just so he can watch the impressive Plasma TV The Danny bought Lav. Coles this past offseason. Will keep you all posted.
edhunter
Go to Jetsinsider and read how they are raking Gibbs over the coals for not trading Ramsey to them. It is a joke. Look the Skins or any team for that matter is not going to trade their #2 QB to another team when as the Jets proved last week that he is 1 snap from taking the field. The Jet fans can trash Gibbs all they want but would they give up Curtis Martin's backup to another team? No. In season trades in the NFL just dont happen because of the injury factor you just dont know when you are going to have to turn to that player. Ask the Bills, Patriots or Eagles about that. Maybe in the off-season Ramsey is moved when the Redskins can rebuild the depth chart but during the season? Forget it it will never happen. I would not make this trade for anyone on the Jets team or picks, Ramsey may never play another down in DC but until Ms. Cleo comes in and says that Brunnell is not going to get injured you simply can not make the trade. TheGreek1973
I don't know guys. I would take the Jets #1 draft choice in a heartbeat for Ramsey. Why? Because we would have a top 10 pick the way the Jets are going this year and I love to have a shot at a great DE like KIWI.

They traded their first round pick last year for a TE who didn't even win the starting job
herb mul-key
Laverneaus must be giving Ramsey props! This is not a good trade for Ramsey either...he would back Bollinger in a new system...and ugh, he is better off taking his chances here for a year then push for the trade hard and start fresh with a better chance to be successful. Kilmer17
This is all about posturing and value. Of COURSE we said no. But we dint say "Dont call again". If the Jets offer the right package, Ramsey is gone. It's sill y to deny that fact. Now, that PACKAGE might be way higher than any team is worth paying, but there certainly IS a price for which he can be obtained.

herb mul-key
screw the Jets fans, we have no obligation to trade Ramsey cause another team lacks depth. Having him is good personel management. For a #1 or a top OL/DL in the offseason. Unless he wins big this year... then he is our starter next year! wskin44
Why would Ramsey want to go to a team with a young Pennington coming back next year instead of staying in DC with an old Brunell just one fart away from falling apart? Just to get some snaps? I wonder what L Coles is thinking about now, with Brunell throwing bombs to Moss and Ramsey trying to move to NY to be his QB again? jbooma
I doubt we'll trade Ramsey as it leaves us vulnerable this year. Maybe if Timmy was available again we might consider it. But, I doubt the team will make a move like this. It simply is a bad football move for the present. Now, if the Jets offer something crazy good like Abraham or whatever, then, sure. Otherwise, you don't help yourself out much for the future with a fourth or third rounder you'd get for Ramsey right now and you kill yourself in the present. I bet that is what the skins are waiting for. If their qb goes out and stinks it up this week they may just cave.
boobiemiles
I dont see us dealing Rams until the end of the season. Rams has better tools than both Campbell and Bruhell, so I don't see the upside to trading him now.

318 SKIN
You really can't blame PR for pushing hard for a trade. He knows where he stands with Gibbs & knows the market only gets more competitive with a new crop of rookies next year to compete with.
Drex
What would be really interesting to know is if Campbell received any "additional snaps" during the bye week. The bye week would have provided Campbell with the opportunity to receive additional snaps in order for him to get additional repetitions, in preparation for the potential scenario of Ramsey being dealt. Rams has better tools than both Campbell and Bruhell, so I don't see the upside to trading him now. I like Ramsey a lot, but he does NOT have better physical tools than Campbell in the slightest. Campbell has as good an arm, better touch and far more athleticism. He's also taller. Mentally we don't know where he'll be much as we know Ramsey isn't where you'd like him to be as far as instincts.
