jbooma
According to WTEM the redskins did get a call from the Jets about Ramsey but have no plans to trade him. So can we stop with the rumors
arftech
"Several league sources told ESPN.com that the Jets have inquired about the availability of former Washington starter Patrick Ramsey, demoted two weeks ago, but were told by the Redskins they will not trade him. League sources also confirmed Tuesday morning that the Jets have had no discussions with Tennessee about the possibility of trading for Titans backup Billy Volek, widely viewed as one of the top No. 2 quarterbacks in the league. Volek played under Heimerdinger in Tennessee and knows the offense well." If I were the "Skins" I would do the deal. Here's why. It is a given that Ramsey is not Gibb's boy and will probably never fit his system. I say get something of significant value such as a possible number one draft pick in return would be excellent but it comes with risks! I know it is a real possibility that Brunnel may get injured and that means the rookie would have to play. There are concerns he's not ready and I feel he's probably not ready but unloading Ramsey to a desperate team now instead of later will allow the Skins to get above average value in return. If you were the 'Skins' would you bite the bullet and do the deal? Peace! Al

At 2-0, we are one injury away from being in New Yorks shoes if we trade him. Campbell may come in and play incredibly, but I am not sure if we want to take that chance. The only way I make this deal is if we get something ridiculous offer for Ramsey...like a 1st round pick or Abraham. Other than that, we sit tight on him
Art
I doubt we'll trade Ramsey as it leaves us vulnerable this year. Maybe if Timmy was available again we might consider it. But, I doubt the team will make a move like this. It simply is a bad football move for the present. Now, if the Jets offer something crazy good like Abraham or whatever, then, sure. Otherwise, you don't help yourself out much for the future with a fourth or third rounder you'd get for Ramsey right now and you kill yourself in the present. gridironmike
I'd take an Abraham for Ramsey straight up.
Fatty P For The Pulitzer
Mort apparently refuses to let the Ramsey trade rumors die. I'm fine either way, just as long as we don't trade him for a conditional 6th rounder, or something like that. Plus, if we trade him, it'd be a perfect opportunity for us to bring in Jonathan Quinn as our backup.
tundey
Unless Joe Gibbs is a moron, Patrick Ramsey is not going anywhere this season. After seeing the Jets (who had a capable backup QB) now scrambling to find a QB, why would any coach/GM trade away Ramsey to leave a rookie as the only backup QB? All Gibbs has to look is Campbell's NFL record (i.e. nothing) to know that trading Ramsey is not an option.
RVAbrendan
I like Ramsey as a Redskin, he is a servicable backup, at least for this year. I say keep him.
Fergasun
To Ramsey: Sit down, shut up and get ready to be our backup for the year. To Fans Who want to Trade: Sit down, shut up and get ready for Ramsey to back up Brunell this year. Unless we can get a First and Third for Ramsey, it's not worth it. Ramsey is acting like a disgruntled WR...
richard saunders
I'd rather just take all of their good players (for nothing) in the offseason again
The Gibber
Would a Second rounder be worth it to role the dice and trade Ramsey? If Campbell can learn four different systems in four years at Auburn, he is probably a pretty quick study and would be alright in a pinch if Brunell gets hurt. We are going to win on Defense and running game anyways, so we would not be asking Campbell to do too much with the offense if he does get a chance. I think that a Jets second rounder would be enough for me to pull the trigger. I would think that the Jets would end up in the middle of the draft order and a middle of the road second would give us some defensive line help, hopefully. I like Ramsey, and I know that he has gotten a bum deal, but I have a feeling that he wants to get out of D.C. so let him go.
freakofthesouth
Now if they wanted Ramsey for Abraham, straight up, then we are talkin'. But, not gonna happen. Gibbs knows how depth at QB is the most important thing on the offense. He wants two 'starters,' as he has put it in the past, and will not be trading Ramsey until after the season. However, if Ramsey becomes a malcontent w/ this team, he might see the door. We took an awful cap hit to have Coles leave for that very same reason, and we may do the same for Ramsey if it becomes an off-field issue. But in mid-season? I kinda doubt that. ntotoro
Mort is on espnradio.com now and said Ramsey and his agent are going to push Gibbs to trade him to NY. They can be push as much as they want, but all they'll get right now is Coach Gibbs and his responses of "what... I can't hear you... " Then again, this is Mort. He probably just dreamed it all up last night.
FBChick
Personally.. the Jets better come with a very convincing deal in order to pull the trigger on this one. One.. not only are you allowing another team to get better while making yourself weaker.. but you're setting yourself to take a dive off of a cliff if Brunall goes down. If you don't think this offense can get any worse.. put in a rookie before the rest of the offense figures out how to gel.. and you'll see worse in a heart beat! Not to mention.. it leaves us with nothing left behind Campbell. I'm not ready to pull the trigger on this season yet.

I fully expect a trade after the season is over. And it is a shame we can not trade him now, because with the Jets' current situation we could demand and get MUCH more than we will be able to after the season ends. But we simply can not leave OUR cupboard bare, especially after a good start to the season.

jwebst1
Not trying to live in the past, but if Gibbs new Ramsey wasn't the guy anyway, then this is exactly why we should have dealt Ramsey in the off-season... we could have kept Timmy H as our back-up, Campbell at 3, and gotten a number 1 or 2 pick for Ramsey from some team. TankRizzo
Mort is on espnradio.com now and said Ramsey and his agent are going to push Gibbs to trade him to NY. As much as he's squaked in the past, I believe this is where we're headed. I think he'll convince Ramsey to go into it. Quite frankly, at this pace it is probably the better move for his career. CutTHROAT
I think we should trade ramsey. This is the best opportunity to get something for him. Plus Gibbs really dont want Ramsey so, why not send him to a team that wants and need him. We might even get our 1st round pick back. I think Campbell will be a pretty good back up. We need to get something for Ramsey while the getting is good. I wouldnt mind Abraham or 1st or 2nd rounder.
