IrepDC
Isn't Sean Taylor's trial coming up soon. You know because of the state he was in the minimum sentence is around 15 years. If he is convicted. But, to be convicted they don't have to prove he murdered someone like the Ray Lewis case, all they have to prove is that he pulled a gun out and pointed it at someone. That's it. Is anyone else worried about this or does any body have more information about what's going on. If he's conivcted, this could literally end his career.
ntotoro
1) The minimum is three years, IIRC, not fifteen. 2) I'm sure they'll get a continuance. 3) If he goes to jail, he goes to jail. You have to pay for your crimes when you're an adult and that's more important than football. That said, I don't think he's going to jail.

cuchip703
It would be interesting to see if he goes to jail at all. Didn't Leonard Little actually kill someone when he was drinking and driving...did he serve any time at all

Didn't Leonard Little actually kill someone when he was drinking and driving...did he serve any time at all unfortuantely no, and on top of that, the husband of the woman he killed is a photographer for the rams, however he refuses to associate or take any pictures of leonard little
freakofthesouth
Yeah, 3 year minimum. This trial will be pushed back until the offseason...and even then, from what I can remember from the earlier articles, the prosecution will have a hard time convicting Taylor due to lack of evidence, credible witnesses, etc. They even tried to get Taylor's boy to testify, seemingly because they have no other grounds to stand on. All of the other press regarding this trial is sensationalism. A lot has to happen for him to be incarcerated.
Loyal2Washington
Doubt he'll get locked up, it's a coupe of gang bangers word against Sean's. The pros. tried to get Sean's boy to testify against him because they need some kind of credible witness. When he declined it was a big victory in Sean's camp. Sean ain't going no where it's he said, he said.

freakofthesouth
isn't there a video? :whoknows: Really? That would be very bad if there were, assuming it went down as the prosecution is saying it did. Crap.
EberKain
The witnesses are just as guilty of ST, with no credability. The case is postponed till the offseason already, so he just needs to concentrate on football.

It seems as though you pick the most negative issue, and then add some hypothetical embelishment to paint a worst case scenario for everything. 15 years? You are clearing getting some bum info dude. Besides, think about what you've just said. "All they have to prove is that he pulled a gun out and pointed it at someone. That's it." How can you prove someone pointed at you? Much less pointed a gun at you. Prove away IrepDC. This should be interesting.

As far as this post, I just wanted to find out the facts about ST. I don't remember where I heard that the sentence could be 15 years. That's why I asked you all. Why can't I ever ask a question without a bunch of 40 year old men jumping on me. If you have more knowledge than I do why don't you just share it with me like a real man. I asked a question about one of my favorite football players, what is wrong with that. Those of you who don't like my threads ignore them, I'm a young man, you're a grown man, ignore me. If you actually have some insight to share, share it with me and than thank you.

dinzelwashington
hes famous.. he'll probably have some kind of work furlough or something for few months. then get put on probation.. and his dad is florida state police chief i think..... and hmm.. do they count how much bullets was in the strap pending on the sentence... Joncevensen
that said the prosecuter offered a deal at the hearing for a continuance with less then three years at a lesser charge and was shot down, i say he ends up with probation or something like that for endangerement or something like that or he walks out of the court room a free man. KillaCam21
This is not something anyone can prove. Anyone close enough to the crime was INVOLVED in the crime and therefore not a credible witness. The guys Sean alledgedly pointed a gun at stole his ATVs. i don't think that any credible witness would have been around this argument long enough to see Taylor pull out his gun. It just seems like a hard thing to prove to me. Taylor's father is the police chief in Homestead, florida (where Pro Player stadium is). I believe the crime said to have been comitted in Miami-Dade county which is roughly 20-30 miles south of there.
