weneedmorelinemen
Hello there. Bears fan here. I know that you guys have Nick Novak on your team because your other kicker is injured. Nick was in our training camp during our kicker competition to find the crappiest kicker we could. What's his status, how has he been performing, and what is gonna happen to Novak once the other guy gets healthy? Our brilliant GM got rid of Edinger for Brien because we needed to replace an erratic, short kickoff kicker who knew the Soldier Field winds with an erratic, short kickoff kicker who has no clue about the Soldier field winds. At the very least we want somebody who can give us some leg on our kickoffs if we have to, you know, hit field goals 1 out of 4 times. Thanks. denverdan
I hear Simoneau might be available;if da bears are really desperate you might suggest sending a scout over to Sweden.
G-Prime
Novaks kick offs seemed good.. He hasn't had many but all seemed to land anywhere from 5-15 yard line.
rebornempowered
Dude is a hero in my book. Not because of his leg but because of his shoulder.
carlsbadd
So far so good with Novak. I am not certain that if we needed a long FG to win he would get it done because we have not been in that situation with Novak yet. Maybe this Sunday we can find out. One thing for certain is that Novak saved the day on a return by Dallas in the Monday night game. There was nothing but open space between the endzone and the return man and Novak saved the game by forcing the return man out of bounds.
weneedmorelinemen
All I know is that he gave Brien a run for his money in camp, and then we went with Brien. I liked the rookie though. Maybe we'll get him back someday. Or maybe we will limp through the season with good old Dougie... Does he actually tackle people after kickoffs though? That'd be neat too. carlsbadd
Novak did get a hat on the return guy in the play I mentioned. So overall I would say he was there when we needed him. As far as mixing it up and laying a hit on someone I would say that is not his role. Our injured kicker Hall is sometimes over agressive and dives into the pile to much and that may be the reason he gets injured so much
ThatGuy
John Hall is our best kickoff coverage guy. His kickoffs aren't very deep (neither were Novak's), but the guy makes more tackles than basically anyone.
