refuze
I have this gaming store called Starland near my house and I'm trying to apply there to get game discounts. Anyways they got an expected salary input on their resume. I'm afraid if I put it too low, they're going to keep it there but if I put it too high, I might not get the job. What's the most realistic pay amount for a person who works at a gaming store? They have it set up like this: Expected salary: ___ After 6 months: ___ After 1 year: ___ I'm already working at McDonald's. I get paid $6.00. I'm trying to get a job over at Starland, then if I like the atmosphere, I'll quit at McDonald's sooner or later. Right now I don't want to quit McDonald's because that job is easy as ever and I like the people there. What I'm thinking of doing is working two jobs (even though I'm still at school). Mon - McDonald's @ 3pm-7:30pm Fri - Starland @ 3pm-8pm or 4-9pm Sat - Starland @ 10am-3pm Sat - McDonald's @ 4pm-9pm

PSUHeckler
Usually those jobs, the ones that the everyday-guy would almost enjoy, pay bad. Esp in/around a college town. If it is $8-$9 I say go for that. I applied @ BB but never got a call back

TheDoyler23
Starting out in retail is usually 6.50 to 7.50 depending on the company, then you get a raise after 90 days. I work for Modell's (I cant disclose my wage, blah blah) but I do get 20% off on my Skins stuff. :point2sky PM me if you're looking for something. (Not trying to spam) And no, we don't have any Cooley jerseys.
The Showstopper
yea im in the same boat as you, im workin at walmart right now, making about 8.20 as an overnight stocker, but the past feww nights have sucked bad... we are gettting 6 trucks in a night cause of the holidays approaching, and each truck has at least 1800 pieces on them, well only 1 unloader has showed up all this wek, and we have 6 sched. to, so they pull us back there )the o/n stockers) and then i usually end up pulling about 100 or so pallets to the floor by myself , so i usually dont actually start working in my area til around 3 a.m., and we leave at
rebornempowered
As a former Toys R Us manager I don't think they are going to take your salary expectations too seriously. They probably have a starting wage that they go with and really can't go too much above it. I would put around $6.75 or so and see if they give it to you. That would be a healthy increase above what you get at McDonalds.
