Tom [Giants fan]
This is going to kill me to admit but I don't see the Giants winning tomorrow night. If this were any of their other road games, I would give them a chance. But this is in San Diego where the crowd is going to be very hostile every time Eli gets on the field. I don't think he is at a point where he can handle a game like this. They will be booing, yelling insults. I'm sure he is going to get bombarded with interesting comments while he is on the sidelines. The Giants are also facing a desperate team who knows if they lose this, their season could already be over. As much as I would love for the Giants to win, I don't see it happening this week. If I'm correct, you guys will be alone atop the NFC East. If I'm wrong, yippie. But I won't be holding my breath. This game scares the bejeevas out of me. HapHaszard
I hate to admit it, but the Giants are a good team. I suspect they won't have that much problem with SD. I know how you feel, I felt the same way before the Dallas game monday night.
RedskinzOwnU
Thats funny, cause I see them beating SD, much to my chagrin. Chargers don't have it this year, whatever "it" is. They're looking like a 1 year wonder. That defense of theirs is atrocious, I don't see anyone stopping plaxico or shockey tomorrow night. If the giants D can hold up their end it should be a win for the g-men.
Thiebear
No chance SD wins... And you got the extra home game so lets keep the cheese to a minimum .
BG
I hate to admit it, but the Giants are a good team. I suspect they won't have that much problem with SD. I know how you feel, I felt the same way before the Dallas game monday night. I kind of feel the same way. They play with more heart than last year. The focus doesn't seem to be on Eli so much this time around. He was thrown to the wolves last year and pulled through OK. This year I think they did a good job patching up the line and the defense seems to be a bit better. San Diego was a fluke last year. They slept on everyone. Now their defense is showing that they cannot stop anything. Brees is regressing and will have a tough time finding his confidence again. On the other hand, I see Tom's fear. Brees is the factor here. He might start feeling the heat from Rivers and either step up or sink with the ship. I don't see Marty pulling him, but the guy knows if he doesn't start playing better, he can kiss the Chargers bye-bye and a nice fat contract with a new team too. DieselPwr44
San Diego has no defense. Last week, Denver ran all over them and the week before that, Dallas threw all over their secondary. Unless your Giants give them the game(turnovers or costly penalties), you should beat them Tom.
75004
The Giants have a good chance to win, but San Diego is hungry. I see it as a good game.
RedskinzOwnU
should be interesting to see how much the chargers fans boo eli.
iheartskins
I'm going to borrow Bill Simmons' opinion on this as it tends to reflect my own: Giants (+5) over CHARGERSThe Chargers haven't looked the same since Schottenheimer coached that playoff game against the Jets with both hands wrapped around his own neck -- they don't have any semblance of swagger anymore, and the Broncos completely manhandled them during the second half last week. So I'm supposed to pick them just because Eli Manning is coming to town and Chargers fans are allegedly going to "let him have it?" Are you kidding me? Have you ever been to San Diego? That's the most laid-back city in the country -- San Diego makes Switzerland look like Compton. I think young Eli will be fine. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/050923

riggins44
Tom, I give the Giants a great chance to win. IMO, the Chargers just aren't the team the media makes them to be.
SittingBull
Well San Diego has their backs against the wall at 0-2 and the crowd will be hungry to tell Eli how they feel. Should be a good game.

When its all said and done thought i think the giants, cowboys, and redskins will rule the divison again while the eagles fans sit there thinking their 1 season away from another super bowl... dreamshatterer
Technically, we are in sole position of first place in the NFC East since we beat a division opponent.
Fifty Gut
well, tomorrow is a true test for the Giants if they are the truth, they'll beat SD if they aren't, they'll lose you deserve a loss anyways considering you have NINE home games this season
APBT
The Giants aren't good on offense and the Saints were in there red-zone over five times. They will lose their next five game have a bye week They will then beat San Fran and lose their next 7. Look at there scgedule; at Chargers RAMS BYE at Cowboys BRONCOS REDSKINS 49ers VIKINGS EAGLES at Seahawks COWBOYS at Eagles CHIEFS at Redskins at Raiders
Leonard Washington
its going to be close. SD isn't as bad people make them out to be. both of their losses have been in game they could have easily won. the giants played well so far and i like the balance they have on both sides of the ball. Guest Xtrmskn04
this is funny. I was just thinking to myself yesterday, that i hadn't seen Tom the giants fan post in a while. perhaps I haven't been looking to hard but i really don't remember seeing you post recently. But I agree San Diego will likely win but the Giants look better than I would like.

barry wilburn
I hate to say this, but the Giants look like a legit playoff team to me. I bet Manning throws his first 3 road touchdowns and they wallk all over Diego tonight.
Larry
Tom, just something to maybe improve your mood: NYG 2-0 SD 0-2 The Cowboys beat 'em. Yeah, I expect them to be fired up. But it's way too early in the season to be giving up. (Says a guy who turned off the MNF game with 10:00 left to go.)
Renegade7
The only thing more dangerous then a desperate team is a desperate team at home. The Chargers are 0-2 and can't afford to go 0-3. It just makes it worse having Eli in town.
