Da_Truth
Cut from DCW, "I saw Moss just blazing down the seam so I tried to help out, but I wasn't able to make a play on him. Point blank," Williams said after the game. "It's my fault. I take total blame for that. I take total blame. I should have read it faster. I should have taken a proper angle to get my hands up on the ball. So I'll take all the blame. I don't care." Got Moss?

chomerics
Hey, it's the right thing to do because he DID cost them the game. It's refreshing to see players take ownership in their mistakes, but that was EXTREME. How you can let a receiver get behind you TWICE in the last 4 min. of a game you're up by 10 in is beyond stupidity, and borders on ignorant. Brother Redskin
It is good to see him step up and take the blame but only the second TD was on him, the first one was on A.Glenn when they were in a cover 4. Williams was supposed to cover the slot WR which he was and was unable to help oout in time. 2nd on was on him.
PleaseBlitz
The fact that the Cowboys didnt have 2 deep safeties in that situation is ridiculous. Some of that blame falls on the D coordinator. Roy shouldnt have bitten on anything less than 35 yards downfield until the ball was out of Brunells hand. So, he can have some blame too. BUT, throw blame around all you want, it WAS a fantastic throw by Brunell and Moss is awfully tough to run with, i dont care who you are.
CEJ2200
Dallas should have had a safety sleeping on the goal line to prevent such a thing form happening. Lucky for us, they didn't cover that in their preparations for last night's game HA HA HA
feeshta
It was honestly a good play call if you ask me. The Cowboys where thinking we would go for something underneath, because that was what we had been doing all season long up to that point. They were looking to stop us from gaining a first down, not touchdown. They simply didn't believe that we had the balls to throw it deep in that situation. Honestly I wasn't sure we did either. I was screaming at the TV for half the game that we needed to go back to that type of play(like the one we just missed to Moss early) at least a few times, and was hoping we would do it in that situation. My thinking was something like this. "If you are not going to make a legitimate attempt to WIN the game, then why are we playing?" Up until the end there, I fealt that they had not made that legitimate effort to challenge the Boys defense and try to change the game. They sure as hell did when they were backed into the corner though.

I think he was saying he doesn't care about taking the blame and the heat off of anyone else... Glenn and Zimmer are just as reponsible IMO... ouvan59
The first play is sort of understandable. It was 4th and 15 and Moss gave a couple of nice jukes at about 15 and then 20 yards. Glenn had every reason to believe that Moss was going to cut it short on that route and try to get the first. It was a great call and from the quotes I read Moss had a lot to do with the call. The second play was just flat out burn baby burn and Brunell made a great throw and Moss made a great adjustment just after the ball left Brunell's hand to be able to catch it in stride. Beautious!!!!
terpfan
Roy Williams is a linebacker playing safety. He's a great blitzer, run stopper, and hitter, but he really does struggle in coverage.
OVCChairman
my hats off to Williams, hes not whining liek a lot of players do when they get beat. he stepped up and took the balme for it.
bigswanny
I agree with you ouvan59 Moss made a really nice move to shake the coverage and a wonderful adjustment on the second pass. It is very refreshing to see a player take the blame when the deserve it and RW deserved it.

CaliforniaSkin
I'm fairly impressed with Williams' stepping up and taking the blame. It wasn't all his fault by any means but he didn't make any excuses. Actually raises my opinion of him a bit (though its still pretty low). Moss is flat out faster and the throw was perfect. Hard to stop.

Ryman of the North
All you guys who are impressed by Williams "stepping up" need to read a little more closely. He is saying that the coverage was not his responsability that he was "helping out" which infers that its someone elses fault that Moss got open. sounds more like a "dont blame me but since everybody is anyway Ill take the heat but I want everybody to know?". Hahahahahahaha I hate the cowpies.
Leonard Washington
good thing williams can't catch b/c he had an easy INT in the endzone that hit him in the face. also good thing he didn't turn around on that first moss td, that was also an easy pick he missed. :dallasuck
JerseyGator
I bet the average fan would think Aaron Glen hit the glue factory a while ago. He's been around for so long. Given the lousy Cowboy secondary of last year and that they were not so improved this year IMO, I thought one Redskins receiver would have a huge game. The Eagles torched the slow Cowboys last year. That was one of the worst secondary performances I've ever seen late in a game at the NFL level. Roy Williams is overrated. He's not used to real QBs/receivers being from OU.
