Isn't this a penalty?

okay, I had to find it

Players are prohibited from grabbing the inside collar of the back or side of the shoulder pads and immediately pulling down the runner. This rule does not apply to a quarterback in the pocket or a runner in the tackle box. Previously, there was no regulation about the "horse-collar" tackle. This rule does not apply to the quarterback in the pocket. Penalty: loss of 15 yards. Reason for the change: Will prevent injury that can result from this tackling technique.

And the one on Brunell was a horse collar too!!! Shoulda been a flag there too!!!

:dallasuck

ah yes, Roy's famous horse collar tackle. What the announcers said is that it is NOT a flag when horse collar is done on a quarterback (like he did on Brunell, then just threw him to the ground.) but it is a penalty when done on anyone else. That is just not right. If that would have happened to Donovan or Peyten, shwooop!!! out comes that flag.

You are WRONG. They would of not thrown a penalty flag because.......

It clearly states that it does not include the QB and the RB in the box

i've never seen R. williams make any other kind of tackle

this guy should get a couple fines every week

Roy Williams had a very good game against us.

I guess you forgot the tackle that he put on Brunell, and Betts that caused him to fumble.

Roy Williams is very good at what he does best, and covering WR's is not one of them.

I think there were a lot of non-calls in this game. From that fumble after Taylor's hit (oh boy, would I be mad if we lost the game on that drive) to multiple holding and block in the back penalties (i believe I saw at least one block in the back on that return Novak saved). But Oh Well! This makes the victory even sweeter! Eff zebras and eff the cowboys!!!!

We got some calls too, a couple of holding penalties against the OLine of Dallas. Especially the one against the play where Keyshawn got the first down.

The other one where they called the hold when the guy pancaked our DLineman.

It worked both ways tonight.

I agree that calls went both ways, but what about non-calls? It seems the boys got away with some non-calls here and there. I'm not complaining, it was nothing outrageous... this game was called much better than many other games, that's for sure. :dallasuck

I agree with you, but its easy to nit pick every single play and we get replays on tv, stuff like that.

I thought it was a pretty good called game, fair on both sides.

I think Madden said that it does not apply to the QB.

Madden's a moron. Would the hell does that fatass Aikman lover know about today's NFL? Not much. Do you honestly believe that the horse collar tackle doesn't apply to QBs? The way the League treat QBs like they should be ballarinas, not football players?

Actually, I don't think that the tackle on Brunell was a horse collar tackle. It was nasty, but illegal, it wasn't.

What? Huh? am I reading what you are saying right?

Madden was correct on what he said. So I guess he does know something about todays NFL.

I posted on the last page, from the NFL rulebook that the horse tackle rule does not apply to the QB while in the pocket.

I guess he knows a little bit more about todays NFL then you do.

I think there were a few discrepancies here & there, but nothing to say that IF we had lost, which we didn't-hahahaha-, we wouldn't have been able to say it was the refs fault. I agree, tho. It was an unusually well called game against the Girls.

If thats was the hold on Flozell on Daniels...that was a blatant hold and i yelled it at the tv before the flag even hit the ground.
