Stew
What do you think the rest of the league REALLY DOES think about Ramsey? Even potential suiters???
chuckflhp
This is completely ridiculous. Say what you will about ability and skill, that's an opinion. But to call Patrick a quitter? That's just a blatant lie. The only thing I can say as a negative, is that when Patrick was benched before he "threatened" to demand a trade. He should have stuck to his guns then and gotten his trade. He probably would be starting right now for Miami. I still wonder as to the switch, and still really don't agree with it. Give the kid a chance. A real chance, real games. Some guy's don't practice or play in the preseason all that well. But when the season comes around, look out. It's like they flip a switch. Bill Cower said that, "if you judged Ben by practice you wouldn't let him start for your kids PeeWee team". Great QB's have always come down to the right guy, in the right system, with the right supporting cast. And TIME! And time is something that Patrick has never had. He's gonna be another Trent Green I'm afraid. We put the work in developing them but don't cash in. I trust Joe, he has forgotten more football than any of us can concieve. We ARE getting better. Joe Sick
The quitter part is BS. This guy should be in lock-up with Judith Miller for not revealing his "sources," i.e. the other voice in his head. The part that puzzles me is that "Ramsey will be a healthy scratch." Does that mean that Campbell is number two for this game?
SkinsHokieFan
What a damn joke I have a lot of respect for Patrick Ramsey, the man, the character, and yes the QB. He doesn't quit. He never did in Philly in '03. Nor against the Seahawks that year. He can play, just not right now. But calling him a quiter is a punk statement
Outtkast3225
I think we have given ramsey a fair chance to win games an even though he gives us moments of brillence i dont think he'll ever be the "man" then again i thought that bout trent green ..... but back to where i was going with this we all know the kinda job bruenell has given us what he once was he is no more my vote is for campbell give him the ball an let him run the ship ill take a yr of losing if it means we have a solid qb in the next couple yrs ........... Outtkast3225
an one other thing i i do not think that by any measure ramsey is a quitter . he gives his all , i was pulling for him all of last yr , but i dont think he has what it takes to be the starter for our redskins maybe a solid back up
Skinman
Im not a Ramsey hater at all, But if you look at my last post about him from last year i said the same thing in so many words. In pro sports the label quiter is not as blunt as it sounds. Not like the kid says "im taking my ball home to mom" its more like metal let down. i know it sounds harsh but really pegging him a quiter is really just that mental let down. he has HEART but his mind is not up to the pressure of the Qb position. Look at his feet, look at how he reacts when he makes a mistake, he lays his head low, rolls his eyes, all signs of a quitter. Now IMHO he has a chance but not with the skins, he needs to break his mold and go to another team to get that fire back. lets face it hes stuck in a rut, and hes not showing anyone any hope hell snap out of it. So the commit quitteris harsh, but really not like it sounds. Fact he has mental shortcomings while under preassure. And when things go bad he really mentaly lets up and dosent work through the problems, instead he makes errors that cost the team. its that cut and dry, and ive been saying it for over 1.5 years now. I do wish him luck because i think hes a hell of a guy off field, but not very many people have the mind to play a sport as a champion. Or everyone would hehe. Hes a shortstop, flashed enough skills to get him his shot, but just fell short. Time for people to wake up and smell the coffee on this kid, great HEART, Class guy, pressure cracks emm like a egg:

Ernie5
Thanks whitejimmy, although what I referring to was the context in which it applies (or could apply) to Ramsey. I know what the word means, but it's a pretty meaningless word w/out some explanation of why. Joe Sick, you're right, "healthy scratch" is confusing. The author either doesn't know hockey very well or Ramsey isn't dressing for the game. I'd bet the former on this one.

FranklinNoble
Gibbs wouldn't take Culpepper, too many turnovers, forget all the positives. No, but Gibbs would take, say, Jim Kleinsasser... and maybe a draft pick.
bulldog
Gibbs isn't going to pull Brunell for Campbell unless the team is at 1-7 or a similar disastrous record. As long as their is a chance for this team to make the playoffs he will play Mark.
SonnyRules
You just have to throw out the "quitter" portion of this article written by the worst rag in pro football. The interesting thing caught my eye was the following: C Casey Rabach, the man snapping the ball, took a diplomatic approach to the change but did say Brunell has the edge in experience. “They are both drop-back QBs. The only difference between the two is that Mark’s got that experience and that confidence in himself,” Rabach told PFW. “The one thing about (Brunell) is that he brings his experience, and I don’t think anything can rattle his cage.” I believe, if this statement is true, that Patrick was stripped of his confidence by Spurrier and perhaps it might not ever be repaired. Only time will tell. :wewantd:
