I'm going out on a limb here...

After seeing last weeks final score where we one 9-7, that just might be a sign or a hint of the season to come. I think after that, there could be a good chance that we'll go 9-7 this year.

Is that enough to make the playoffs? Who knows? But I'm guessing 9-7 for this season.

I might just be reading into things too much, but we've seen a lot of quirky things in the NFL.

to me it all depends on how the skins play on monday night,i know its early

but i think this game is huge and will have a direct impact on the rest of the season.

If the skins can beat Dallas this week,i think we will be 4-0 going into

the kc game. :dallasuck

You might as well say we will be 5-0 because we have the D to stop KC and last time portis played against the cheifs he had like 200 yards and 4 TD's

Parcells will rig his defense to stop Portis/Betts and put the Skins in 2nd/3rd and long situations. He will then blitz heavily from the right side to force Brunell to roll to his left, costing him one half of the field, and increasing the opportunities for a pick. To counter this ... if the Skins are to have any chance on offense ... Brunell must throw often on 1st and 2nd down, use Portis occasionally on the sucker draw, and rely on misdirection plays to surprise and wear down the boys defense. TOP will be key. A big worry will be Jansen's broken thumbs. Help from the tight end, and copious use of the shotgun will be manadatory. It will be tough ... but if Gibbs plays away from his usual conservative inclination ... Skins can surprise in a low scoring game with a last minuite winning FG by Novak ... wouldn't that be poetic.

Interesting take. However, I think Gibbs will play his old school style. He will pound the run a LOT in the first half, to soften them up for the second half. You saw how frustrated the Bears' defense was at the end of the game last week. They couldn't stop our run come the 2nd half. They ran out of gas, and our O-line punished them. We need the O-line to be physical and tire out that defensive line by the third quarter. If that happens, just as it happened last week, we'll control the clock and the tempo. If we're within 3 points going into the 4th quarter, I definitely think we'll come away with a W.

However, I agree that I don't think we'll be running first AND second down every series. I expect a lot of play action and shotgun plays early, and a much more traditional, grind 'em out style in the second half.
