bulldog
Think about the Jags after their 1999 run to the AFC Championship Game at 14-2. What did they do? They unloaded salaries and imploded due to the cap. The exodus of players out of Jacksonville included most of the big name players on the team outside of Fred Taylor and Jimmy Smith. Tulane Skins Fan
6-17 is 6-17. and it doesnt seem like last year was when he started losing
E-Dog Night
Jacksonville went through salary cap hell and they were pretty awful for a few years, which had nothing to do with Brunell. Last year was last year, and the conventional wisdom is that Brunell looks like a new QB compared to 2004. We'll know soon enough, and in any case, I wouldn't worry too much about it. zoony
I heard on the radio that we are 7-0 when Portis runs for over 100. sounds right but I'm not positive (I haven't researched, sorry, too lazy) that's the stat I'm worried about. dawgjk9
i think that if we can get one or 2 nice passing plays for 10+ yards on the first series....we will then force them to respect the pass allowing portis to ruun all over them. if this all falls into place portis will have 100+ yards and the redskins (HOPEFULLY) will get outta the texas toiletbowl with a win. Over the last 17 games, we are undefeated when a back goes for over 100. Thing is, most of the times a back goes over 100, it simply occurs because the game flow allows you to call runs. But a relevant stat nonetheless, especially considering how close most of our games have been.

Thats not a knock, it just means that running game is less likely to have backs that have the speed to break 50+ runs.

bubba9497
a qb w/l record is a meaningless stat.... football is a TEAM game, a qb has zero control over defense & ST, and he can't catch the balls, or block, running game etc.......... I  every time someone uses that stat in an argument.

True dat, I believe in the Redskins..we gonna kick their a$$ on monday night! (I hope) There isnt a reason why we should not beat Dallas they are not that good..the funny thing is and I hate to say this no matter how bad the Boys are they always beat us they can go like 2 and 14 and those 2 wins will come against us and it just pisses me off!:cuss: Realistically they are not that good and we should beat them!
