HeHateMe
I was at the game. And I can tell you, if it was your first time at a football game and you didnt know who was the home team, you wouldnt have been able to figure it out on Sunday in San Diego. It was probably 60% San Diego and 40% Dallas; but the Dallas fans were just as loud as the home team fans. America's Team never left. http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/chargers/20050913-9999-1s13chnotes.html Steeg troubled by Dallas fans By Kevin Acee UNION-TRIBUNE STAFF WRITER September 13, 2005 As Dallas quarterback Drew Bledsoe knelt at game's end and the players from both sidelines began to mill toward midfield, the chant intensified. "Cowboys! Cowboys! Cowboys!" It was not the first time there had been those out-of-place noises during Sunday's game at Qualcomm Stadium. When Quentin Jammer's interception was called back, a good number of cheers mixed with the jeers. Same thing when the Chargers failed to convert a third down or when the Cowboys scored. "I was kind of surprised," Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson said. It did not go unnoticed in the executive suite either. "Somehow we've got to come up with some way to stop it," said Chief Operating Officer Jim Steeg. "One of the challenges is how can we on this side of the building do a better job to help the other side win games." It was troubling to Steeg that even at the home opener, with the Chargers coming off a 12-4 season and for a game that was part of a multigame package, so many opposing fans (15,000-plus by his estimate) would show. And that many of them would be sitting in Chargers' season-ticket holders seats was even more disconcerting. "We've got to instill pride in our fans," Steeg said. The Pittsburgh Steelers play here on Oct. 10, and they have a large national following. Steeg was not ready to divulge possible remedies, but he said, "We've got to do something. I'm kicking around all sorts of ideas."
tr1
San Diego is a transcient town, just like DC. The fan mix is never a surprise. As for being America's Team...really? Did you see KJ's face at the end of the game when Breese completed that duck/bomb at the end of the game putting the outcome in doubt? Classic mouth-breather... HeHateMe
Take a look at the tape...it's hilarious. Tell me you didn't think SD was going in for the score... I didn't. They got thier lucky break on the prayer thrown by Brees when he was done for. If Henry doesnt lose that ball in the sun, that completion never happens and they never get a chance from inside the 10. Ok, the sun... That pass defense should worry you a whole lot...this didn't look like a Parcell's coached defense...they looked weak. KevinthePRF
No surprise there. I always said Dallas has the most bandwagon fans of any team in the NFL. :dallasuck
HeHateMe
Thats totally made up. How on earth do you know he lost it in the sun, please Because he said he did. And because I beleive him. Just like if Springs said he lost a ball in the sun, you would beleive him too. He was having a stellar game, to which he was nominated for defensive player of the week for.

Gee, first game in transitioning to the 3-4, new faces and rookies everywhere, facing the best RB in the game (and holding him to 72 yards). I think they did pretty well under the circumstances. A blown coverage here and there (one for a TD) was expected nonetheless. But again, I was happy with what I saw.

iheartskins
C, I think the Saints might give the 'Boys a run for their money as "America's Team" this year. EDIT: Didn't see SpanishOmellete's post immediately above mine.
