JasonLove
Has he lost his freakin' mind? I am extremely disappointed in the man who's word WAS stronger than oak. Giving Ramsey less than a half to prove himself after all the talk of him being the starter for the last year? Gibbs goes out, spends $43 million on a washed up QB, who fails miserably, then goes back to him after less than 2 quarters from Ramsey. No one can honestly say Ramsey didn't show incredible improvement over the last half of last season, getting better every game. Gibbs should at least prove he still has a pair and trade Ramsey as fast as possible so Ramsey can get the shot to play somewhere, as he deserves. Ramsey was never given a true chance in Washington, and it's sad. The kid went through some rough years taking more hits than a punching bag takes. Gibbs needs his head checked, and a cup check to make sure he still has something left in his pants. I never thought I would say stuff like this about Gibbs, a man who led us to 3 incredible Super Bowl Championships, but I can't take anymore of this garbage I've been watching the past few years now. Get us a winner. If not Ramsey, than at least let Campbell get the snaps to get the experience and get his struggling time out of the way. We can't win with Brunnell who can't even throw deep. We got speedy new receivers specifically for the deep threats and now we're going back to the pitch and catch? This is horse-sh**!

B4L
Ok, I'll admit it I am a PR supporter. However, Ramsey being benched is not what upsets me about this decision by Gibbs. What upsets me is that making Brunell the starter is akin to forfeiting the season. Brunell is not the answer and he will not get it done. If we go back to the conservative, ball control offense of last season with no downfield passing defenses will stuff everyone in the box and stiffle the run. This is a huge step back, not a step forward. I'm not ready to give up on the season yet, but with Mark Brunell in I can't see any other outcome. Am I the only 1 without a short memory or do others remember Mark's performance last season?
PCS
I can't imagine what's wrong with him. I mean, last year it was the black hat. Looked good too. Now, it's back to the burgandy one. Have no idea what that's all about. He only gave the black hat a season. Sigh. * Or was that the other way around. Inquiring minds want to know. RabidFan
other teams including Dallas wanted Brunell to when cut but we traded before him to keep him unavailable.....so don't act like Scott....er Mark was on the couch for a year. da#1skinsfan
If Gibbs has a gut feeling, Im going with it. He can do anything short of banning me from the stadium, and even then, I might give it some thought as to how it may help the team. All will work itself out. No_Pressure
Well thanks for the insight after the 3,000 other "I <3 Ramsey" or "Brunell sucks" or "I hate Gibbs now" threads. Gibbs is starting Brunell because the truth is Ramsey sucks. Whether or not you want to understand that its true its his 4th year and he looks the same as his 1st year, blame underdevelopment, blame Spurrier, blame Gibbs playing mind games with him, the fact is Ramsey is not a good QB right now and he probably never will IMO. Brunell might appear to you to "not be the answer" however at least at one point Brunell was throwing for 20 TD's and 9 INT's. At one point Brunell was in the playoffs. This year: Brunell makes or breaks this season. Next year: Campbell starts unless Brunell is amazing. Cant wait.

dawgjk9
umm he hasnt lost his mind...hes joe gibbs. he jsut thinks that less turnovers=more points and i really do see hte logic but he could have handled it a little bit better. at least we now all offically know that cmapbells the guy here and whether you wanna admit it or not, hes going to be good one day and will lead the redskins to many january victories. tr1
What's wrong with you posting a thread like this...get a grip. If you are a Redskins fan, you should apologize for this crap. Ramsey couldn't get it done...in the pre-season or the first game. This is just crap.

Ramsey at least has potential, Brunell peaked along time ago...

No_Pressure
Ramsey has potential? The only times he showed potential was usually while leading a drive to the 35 of another team then throwing an interception that loses the game. Face it. Ramsey never showed that he could do jack ****. He got into the games and threw crappy passes to open recievers, tried to thread the needle and would get picked off, would throw it to defenders all alone for no reason (see bengals pre-season game) and the WORST thing about him is the thing that makes a QB almost as much as their brains and arm- his feet. Ramsey either stood like a statue and took sacks under the chin while everyone else blamed it on his line, or he would take 18 steps on a 3 step drop because he's retarded and would instead of throwing away a pass where he is getting hit or nobody is open, he would chuck the ball up for grabs. He sucked, he showed little sparks and he turned the ball over ALOT. Brunell may be mediocre now, but I will take that over horrible.
No_Pressure
The question these moral value people have to ask themselves when they start sobbing that Gibbs lied to Ramsey is this: Would you rather have Gibbs play a QB that he knows will doom the season, and sit by while we say oh well looks like theres nothing he can do- he promised Ramsey. Or would you rather have Gibbs make the decisions he thinks will put his team in a position to win? I know if this was say... week 8, we were 1-7 and Ramsey had 10 TD's and 20 INT's the same people that sob over Gibbs breaking his promise to Ramsey would be at Gibbs' throat demanding he break his promise and start Brunell or Campbell. Same old **** from unfaithful fans. You have to believe. In Gibbs we trust.
