Ghost of
He was a little surprised by decision, Patrick's story is not done in Washington and that he will come back at some point this season and do a good job. Some good jokes about the thumbs, etc.
Truant
Whoa... Jansen better not make comments that may have people thinking that he's supporting Ramsey... cuz that'll mean he hates Joe Gibbs and thusly he should have his testicles removed... bulldog
no, you can support Ramsey and still show respect for what Gibbs has done here as a Redskins Coach for 13 plus years. What some of us object to and note in the posts, are flame-emotional responses to the Ramsey/Brunell move in which folks talk about Gibbs as if we owed him about as much trust as Steve Spurrier or Norv Turner that is just not supportable by the facts. perhaps a few of you have only seen the Skins in losing times the past 5-10 years and I feel bad about that. but disrespecting Gibbs in DC is like disrespecting Michael Jordan in Chicago. It just makes people look silly.

The only analogy I could come up with that seemed in any way applicable was Lombardi returning to Green Bay (ignoring the resurrection aspect of that, of course). Monk in the Hall!
Hope JJ is good to go on Monday. Maybe Jacoby can give him punching tips... it would be funny if the zebras called him for holding.... (actually, it would not be funny at all, I take it back).. Bulldog would the Bulls fans welcome Michael Jordan back right now and embrace him if he went 2 for twenty from the floor and turned the ball over every other game and caused the team to start the season 3-6? Especially if the coach started him knowing he was washed up and the bulls defense was holding the other teams to minimum scores but Mike just couldn't get it done? I've watched Gibbs since I was old enough to realize football was a sport and I have mad respect for the man but I just don't feel like Brunell puts us in a better position to win. Then again I thought A Brown would make an impact with his speed and he was released so what the hell do I know? I just pray to God that Gibbs is right on this one. Jansen and the boys hopefully will push Dallas all over the field bad enough that Sean Taylor could play QB, WR and Safety.

I say we should see how this plays out before drawing any conclusions. Brunell's nagging injury last year casts his performance in a whole new light. If he's recovered, fine, let's see it. ZoEd
I agree 100% if he's healthy lets see it. My analogy with the Michael Jordan is simple if he stunk it up I doubt the fans would still stand behind him. I can't see Gibbs stinking it up though, the man is way too smart for that. I guess as fans we should follow him blindly I just hope we don't end up like the lemmings and follow him over a cliff. Cmon Joe take us to the promised land! Whether you agree with his decisions or not, at least wait and see how things pan out. Then, come week 7 or 8, one side or the other can say "Ha Ha. I told you so!"
Jumbo
It also makes us wonder if you are a "Redskin" fan. I hear ya. And being a fan doesn't automatically mean uncontrolled perpetual homerism, though the capacity for some homer-like behavior occasionaly is a must . Most long-term "real" fans I know have their share of gripes, issues, and frustrations that they are anything but hesitant to reveal. But when people go out of their way to repetitively harp on tired, old, cliche-ridden, myopically-focused flame topics (danno sux), or highly unlikely and highly negative spins (Gibbs has totally lost it) they seem to be more than just unfortunately one-dimensional, simplistic, and biased in their reasoning. They actually seem to derive some pleasure out of wallowing in angst. Yuck. I'm not sure the waters of Burgundy & Gold run very deep in these type of "fans."
