tenken627
OK, well that's fine but that's scary. Especially when those bad habits continue into the first regular season game in the form of a pick and a fumble. Brunell hasn't played well in last year's preseason and training camp with the first unit either. It was an open competition last year with both QBs practicing with the first string. If I recall, the only QB that did well in preseason last year was Tim Hasslebeck, but he didn't play with the 1st string unit like Brunell this year. Brunell has had 0 snaps with the first unit and against 1st string defenses this preseason. Thats why saying Brunell did better than Ramsey in the preseason is moot. afkidd
Those things happened a while ago and situations are much different. how have things changed? the same thing happened last year. ramsey sucked in the preseason, brunell excelled, brunell sucked in the real season (HORRIBLY CAN YOU SAY WORST QB EVER?) while ramsey...well he didn't suck as bad as brunell... TODD
I hate to do this because you've done a lot of work to assemble these statistics, but who cares? Those things happened a while ago and situations are much different. Oh they are different? Please elaborate!
AJ_Skins
I'll give Gibbs a break on this one count: if Brunell screws up, and he yanks him just as fast as he did Ramsey. You know...the kind of thing that used to happen a lot more often in the league-- You play one guy, he makes a dumb play, you yank him and put in another. That guys screws up, you yank him and put the first guy back in. Do it every series if you have to. Rotate them like you do running backs until somebody steps up. We haven't seen that in a long time in the NFL, but if that's where Gibbs is headed, fine. If he just sticks with Brunell through anything like he did last year, forget it. The fact that he cut A. Brown maybe gives me a sliver of hope we might see the first scenario, but I'm still doubtful.
