Middle linebacker position now vs. last year

On another note, besides all the hoopla and panic going on about our QB situation, what did you think about our middle linebacker/s?

I thought they played extremely well, they made the right adjustments, and played in position. The rotation between Lemar Marshal and Warrick Holdman was great and was even moire awesome with Lemar Marshall's int. grab.

Seems like we haven't missed a beat at all from last year, actually might have gotten better! I'm hyped!

while i dont think lemar is as good as AP, I do think hes very servicable. althought Id like to see what Lavar can do more in place of warrick.

On another note, how do you think prileou did opposite 21, I thought he did well, although ive always thought Ryan Clark is our best option aside taylor, followed closely by bowen.

For two years in a row we have a very athletic MLB. The INT was an example of that given that Marshall is a former DB with better hands than most MLB's. Obviously he did a good job running the defense and making play calls, alignments and adjustments.

Prioleau was very solid - better than I thought he could be - but he's here for special teams first. You have to like the depth we have at safety, frankly at CB too. Our defense is amazing.

Finally some football talk....following our week 1 WIN, yes VICTORY!

Anywho.....I think we are in fine shape even though we lost Pierce....We wont be able to evaluate fully until some more games have been played but our D did everything they needed to and more.

And oh by the way that tipped pass by Holdman at the end of the 3rd basically saved us....as they had a sure field goal on deck.....the next play after the pickle was CP' big run and then the field position battle was the final touch.

I think he played well. I think it shows that Pierce, albeit a good MLB, was replaceable.

I think we will know just how good Marshall is after the Seattle game. Lets see how he holds up against a top-flight back and a good qb. I think he will have a very good season, he looks like he has learned his position.

Prielou played well, I would rather have Clark back there but he did a great job filling in.

I like Marshall a lot..looks good. AP was a very smart player and its hard to replace that but I think G.Williams is doing a nice job causing confusion. Once #56 gets back in the mix full time we are going to like our linebacker play a lot.

I watched the Midgets game and AP didn't do anything to make me say "Damn I'm gonna miss him".

I always thought he was a good player. I remember back when Marty was saying how smart of a player he was. I tend to belive that he was a product of GW's system and his smarts made him look better then he is. I guess time will tell.

We need LA back!!! I'm thinking he'll be back full time after thr bye. The team seems much more pumped up whe #53, #56 and #21 are all on the field at the same time.
