pilotperk
Number 6 .... It represents the number of Fumbles that Brunell had in only 8 games last year (not all lost fumbles but fumbles none the less) It represents the number of INT's that Brunell had in only 8 games last year It represents the number of LOSES we had when he played an entire game last year in first 8 games. It represents a higher number than the number of TD MB got us last year in only 8 game. (I believe Manning had more in one game than MB had all last year, i will check but i believe im right) And finally it represents the points for a TD ... thought I would throw that in there because it will be very few of those seen with him at the helm and we may all forget by time another miserable season is over. It soon will be, and if he was so called hurt he will be again because he could not run away from a man without any legs. I would venture to say he could not outrun 85% of def linemen in the NFL

And this year will not be last year. It's a different season... You know, last year was 2004, this year is 2005... We don't have alot of the same players we had last year... Making it, you know, different.
cuchip703
Ramsey had two fumbles in 1 qtr on Sunday. 6 is also the number of fumbles he had last year. He had 11 picks in 9 games (7 starts).....Whats your point....last year is last year...

LIES!!!! We all know that Mark doesn't make mistakes. Sure he throws for less yards in whole games then most QB's get in a single good series but he never turns the ball over. He is mistake free and plays with great courage, anyone that says different is a closet cowboys fan and has no respect for Gibbs. HOW DARE YOU!!!! Oldskool
Last year is not this year. Thanks, play again. You’re right! It is a new year and look at the new and improved Brunell! 40.68 pct in 2004 versus 57.14 pct this year Mind you he also had an average of 119.4 yards per game last year but is averaging a whopping 70 yards this year. Point is that we don’t know what to expect from Brunell except what we have seen from him in the past and in .75 of a game this year. That is suckage. He was a good maybe great QB in Jacksonville IN HIS EARLY YEARS but his last years there were terrible. Remember he could not even beat out a Rookie there his last 2 years. How can you people possibly defend him with his performances last year, maybe you were watching a different game than the rest of us were but he was in the top 2 worst starting QB's last year... and all of a sudden he is the man and the best QB we got. What a freaking joke. Vick and Manning and the other winning teams out there have QB's who can make the big play or big throw that makes the difference in a game. 3 or 4 plays generally make or break a game maybe some of you would understand this if you had ever played the game. MB simply had a season with us last year to prove he does not have it anymore and his last 2 years in jacksonville. I know its not baseball but 3 strikes and your out! Yes, Brunell does turn the ball over. As does Ramsey. But look deeper... Brunell is signed for a few more years, correct? Campbell is signed for a few more years, correct? Ramsey's contract is almost up, correct? Instead of resigning Ramsey to be our mediocre starter and paying him good money and taking a few mill off of our cap, we now start a guy whose inked long term... That means that this will prepare Jason Campbell to be our guy in the future. We don't have enough money to be paying three quarterbacks, someone is the odd man out... Brunell is the lesser of the two turnover evils... Brunell wins.

I'm not defending Brunell... I just think he's a better game manager than PR is. And with our running game, offensive line and defense, we need a game manager back there at quarterback... Not someone whose going to throw wild throws down field just for the sake of taking shots down field. Last year, Brunell stunk. Could he this year? Sure. But this is this year, not last year. I can't drive that point home enough. And besides, neither Brunell nor PR are the best QB on this roster.

Now ask yourself a question, if Joe could pick any QB in the league both starter and backup knowing what he knows now, where do you think Mark McCourage would rank on that list? Joe is trying to do the best he can with the limited options he has available to him. It's why he drafted a QB, he knows we don't have the answer here and he went out a grabbed a guy that could save our franchise. Mark is a place holder. Destino
But he did. And it wasn't exactly a questionable call either. The call was not questionable. Gimpy throwing a badly thrown ball into double coverage was questionable. It would have been picked regardless and a bad move by their defense saved us from have the bears yet again take control in our redzone. This isn't new, Mark has lost games with his turnovers, I have to check but I think the opposing defense scored 4 times on Mark's turnovers. In fact last year we were talking about how both QB's turned the ball over but with Patrick it happened on the other side of the field while with Mark it all too often resulted in points. It's amazing how quickly people forget this stuff. This move by Gibbs tells me that he has given up on our QBs. We are going to run the ball and we'll never see passes in the 4th Qtr unless we are down. The defense is going to have to hold on in the end, in every win.
