cnhnyy
A lot of people have been saying that bears have a top-5 defense just as we do and we would do much better against girls offensively. However, statistially, Bears are NOT even a top-20 defense last year. They were 21st in total defense and cowgirls were 16th in total defense. Remember bears did not add any significant defensive FA/draft picks while girls have been adding Ware, Spears, Canty, the DT from Jets and two new CBs (both had a pick yesterday). Our anemic offense made bears look much better than it was. It is going to be a long Monday night if our defense/special team doesn't give offense perfect field positions. matty dread
When you have an offense that led the league in 3 and outs and appears to be headed that way again, the D numbers are definitely going to take a hit. Their ranking might not have shown it, but they had a good D, and they still do.
jimster
The Bears had a lot of key players out for large chunks of time last year, plus 2nd year in their system. -Lovie Smith has an excellent track record, so I wouldn't discount tham. KevinthePRF
Well at the moment they officially have the 17th ranked defense, probably the 15th by the end of the Monday nighter. We officially have the 2nd ranked defense in the NFL this week. So we are clearly superior. No further.
cnhnyy
I am not discounting them. But they are clearly not one of the top defenses.
cnhnyy
look, the point I am trying to make is that Our offense might have even harder time scoring next week (Hall's injury doesn't help either). GW needs to be aggressive to creat TO's and our special team need to have some big returns.
Renegade7
They were hurt a lot last year. After watching the game again, I was very impressed with the Chicago defense. They are definetly a top 10 D when healthy.
intheRIC
I think they have one of the top defenses talent wise. Their problem will be that they are going to play waaaay too much this year.
orlskinsfan
On pure talent alone I think the Bears are a top 10 defense...what will keep them out of the top ten is the fact that the offense is so bad the defense will be on the field all game..this will inflate the other teams yards keeping the out. I'd like to see how many 3 and outs we had. I thought we did pretty good in that stat.
