I am ashamed of some of the fans that have come out of the woods with such comments such as " Joe Gibbs sucks, Joe is washed up, wishing death (heart attack on MB) during the game, JG is an idiot, JG sucks.. etc.." I really thought our fan base was much more loyal than what I saw earlier!! You stand by your team, you stand by your coach.. not just any coach.. the coach that made the Redskins to be what they are!! We won 3 SB's because of him, he is in the HOF and took on this job for one reason and one reason only.. HE IS A REDSKIN and wants nothing less than another SB for this organization, city and most of all the fans!! I am done with this for now, I just cant believe I read some of this BS earlier!! You would think that Pat has led us to three straight divisional champioships or something.But in reality he played tesrerday as he always had. Sure, if Mark comes in and shows something OTHER than what he did last year or in this past game, I'll re-think my assessment OF HIM, not of the overall decision. Many stood by their predictions last year and were right. Now, I'm not going to be so harsh this year because Mark is a bit healthier but why would a win turn around people who believe this lacked integrity and that it isn't based on a true and objective evaluation of the players, but is based on favoritism? I have been a skins fan for a long time ... the glory days of all of our superbowls to the horrible season under Ritchie Pettibon. I have 100% trust in Gibbs and his decisions... I do think he made a poor decision in bringing Brunell here in the first place but everyone makes mistakes and you have to live and learn. Sitting Ramsey is basically saying "he is DONE" . I really think we will see Brunell start the next three games barring injury and if we lose all three (and they are a tough three) we could very well see Campbell in there. Campbell was drafted because Gibbs thinks he is a good person for our future. Whether that works out or not we will have to wait and see. Brunell is just a hold over for Campbells preperation in my opinion. bottom line is we don't have a decent QB and Gibbs knows it !! That is why he gave up so much to get Campbell. gibbs is basically playing the hand he is dealt and he is trying to convert that into a winner.. we will see. I think Dallas will beat us but only because it's in Dallas on a Monday night and we will turn the ball over and let our defense down again.. It just happens. I don't think it will be just due to Brunell. We should not bash Gibbs but be patient.. The NFL these days is very tough. We'll see... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Will we win be successful yes. Will JG win yes. Will we be in the playoffs yes. Is Mark good enough to do all the above yes. Will I and everyone fan still be cheering for the Skins, yes. I have no dobut about any of the above statements so feel free to row those back at me too. Is it true that PR got screwed yes. Can anyone here honestly tell me that it is fair to loose your job due to an injury. That is what happned here. Parcells, Ditka, Martz just to name a few are good NFL coaches. All three will are or will be in the Hall of Fame someday. No one doubts their coaching ability or the ability to win. However a people I think they are people that I do not respect as a person.. Bottom line, Gibbs is a great coach and we will be good again. Do I still respect him and think of him as a good person, no. I think so many people are mad myself included because we put JG on a pedstal. He is suppose to be above all the crap, and now he is just another great coach that is in my opinion a jerk. And then there is still the question, why did they not just release PR. They did not want him here, all the fans above the age of 35 who "understand" football did not either. No matter how you feel about Patrick Ramsey being benched, the tenor of the posts on this board has taken me by surprise. What has Patrick Ramsey done to deserve our loyalty above Joe Gibbs? Some of you have simply gone crazy. The young fans who lack the knowledge of the history may be excused for the statements they are making. Older fans who know better need to be stepping up and helping the youngsters out. Joe Gibbs is a man of strong character and great leadership. He deserves our benefit of the doubt. I'm not sure the prospects of Mark Brunell starting are all that thrilling for me either. But, I can not believe the comments some of you are making. When faced with a tough season Joe Gibbs buckled down and worked for our organization. When faced with a tough decision, Patrick Ramsey asked to be traded. I know which of the two men I feel I'd rather put my support behind. Some of you should be ashamed of yourselves. We don't deserve Gibbs as our coach with the behavior too many of you are showing. It is a process.....and I trust Gibbs to lead us through that process A HECK OF A LOT MORE than I trust PR to take us through that process. I am amazed at the venum of the statements also. He just destroyed this season and his draft decisions destroyed the forseeable future. I had plans to attend the game in Dallas and now I wont. If you name the guy the starter, stick with him like you did Brunell last year, just don't pull the rug out from underneath him with less then a half played. Let's think about it....Ramsey holds out in his rookie year. Gibbs trades for Brunell, first reaction from Ramsey is to be traded. Now regardless of how Gibbs benched him for this game, he immediately ask for another trade. Ramsey has never won in the pros or even in college. He to me is acting like a lot of today's athletes ala Coles. Just because he gets benched for one game doesn't mean he can't start again this year, right? Put it to rest people and accept Brunell for right now as our starting QB. He deserves whatever criticism he gets if he doesn't play well, but also deserves our support if he does. For me it is in no way Gibbs vs. Ramsey. I want more than anything to see Gibbs return to glory. That is what kills me. I think Gibbs has hurt himself in a big way. The credibility factor is the worst. I don't agree with those who bash Gibbs, but it doesnt surprise me either. I go back to the Joe Theisman days when it was all smash mouth, north and south football. I would have to say that things have changed alot since those days even more so have the fans. We live in the days of Fantasy Football my friends and this might actually have a small, rather effect on some of our opinions. Football in the NFL is fleeting. If you can't cut it out there then your going to be replaced and replaced fast. Even with the injury to Ramsey I feel he would have been replaced within two weeks any way. Patrick played one of the worst preseasons i had ever seen and it was looking like he was off to the worst start ever. Washington is a competetive town when it comes to the NFL and the media is one of the most unforgiving. It is really easy to print the bad stuff and i think that it sells more papers anyway to put out all this negativity. I trust Joe with my team, even if we have a losing season.
