Make your call NOW - Ramsey or Brunell on MNF?

E-Dog Night

I was seriously doubting Ramsey in the pre-season, with his reads, and basic mechanics as a QB, however Brunell doesn't give us a chance to win. He is servicable, however I don't trust him lifting our team up in order to win a big time game. He did a good enough job to win the game for us, however we need Ramsey in the game. Ramsey show's flashes of brilliance, and has upside, I was doubting him seriously before, but he made some good plays yesterday and we would be throwing our season away if we started Brunell.

Ramsey needs to continue to develop and he gives us a threat. He showed nice zip on his throws, and needs to continue to play with our team. He gives us the best possibility of winning. I hope he isn't hurt, because Brunell was really hurt last year and continued to play. Because if he is then he needs to sit out, he will be taking away from our team, but he said he felt good and the doctors gave him the ok to return to the game.

It should be Ramsey. Shouldn't loose your job to injury and at least with Ramesy we can threaten to throw the ball deep. But I know Gibbs is going to start Brunell. So here we go again with 5 yard passes, no deep threat, and 8 men in the box to stop Portis. Going to be a long night I'm afraid.

I think the best QB yall have is Campell. I have watched him play for 4 yrs at AU and he is the real deal. If your QB play don't improve quick, why not scrap the other two and go ahead and let Campell start learning the ropes.

You didn't watch any preseason Skins games. Cambell is in no way ready to play in the NFL. He did nothing against 2nd and 3rd string defenses.

Ramsey is our best bet at a win IMO. He did not do anything to lose his position. It was an all out INT fest out there in the NFL yesterday because it was the first game and all. I really do not think his INT was that bad or unheard of for a first real season game. He cannot do that if he starts in Dallas though...

My gut keeps saying MB is Gibbs boy, so I am thinking, to the detriment of the club he is going to go with MB, but use the commentary that "they need to rest Patrick another week." Now you see he has an out. If MB sucks up the joint he can start Patrick in the next game. And I do not think this is wrong for Joe Gibbs to do. He still has no idea what he has at the QB position, and Ramsey makes him nervous. Ramsey does not make me nervous. I think he is improved.

Brunell tripped over a blocker, it was not his own feet. I feel a lot more comfortable with Mark than Patrick on Monday night. Mark is somewhat limited, but I am sure PR gives up at least one intercept, probably more in between a few nice passes. We can't deal with the turnovers.

What about Brunell's pick!

i think its a good move. Brunell + Campell means to put Jason Campbell on the shoulders of Mark Brunell and to have the duo on the field. Mark makes the decisions, Campbell throws. Its the ultimate weapon.

Plus they'll have an unobstructed view of the field.

I was really glad to see this poll and know that the majority of the people on this board perfer Ramsey. I was really kinda of worried about that. Now as long as JG understands it we will put up a "W" Monday night. Brunnell is a guaranteed loss. I still have the opportunity to buy tickets for this game but I wouldnt pay two cents to watch Brunnell play. I really dont even want to see him standing on the side lines with all that money he stole but I can deall with that.

I agree. Ramsey gives us the best chance. He's made mistakes and will. He really seemed to be getting more comfortable on the field before the injury. I saw some things from Ramsey in the Chicago game that made me hopeful. I haven't felt this way about his play since his second season. It appeared that some things were clicking for him, the way he stepped up in the pocket, the way he sidestepped the rush. If he can get more comfortable doing those things he will begin to find receivers quicker and good things will happen for him and the team. Brunell is all right. But allowing Ramsey to ever build his confidence (and he's a smart guy so it has to be a confidence issue) gives this team its best chance.

Ramsey. Brunell isn't going to get any better that he is right now, which is a guy that won't make mistakes on the way to 9 points.

Ramsey not only has the ability to go long, but he also has the potential to improve, and if we want our offense to be effective at all this year we HAVE to have better than we had yesterday. Brunell can't give us that.

If only you could convey these points to Gibbs Henry.

Tim did Ramsey run over your dog? Piss on your shoe or in your cereal? If you could explain to me your dislike of Ramsey I would appreciate it.

This is the same cat that promised for the entire season Brunell would turn it around. He decided to throw in his lot with Mark and that's why you see that.

He's also the same dude who promised 200 yards and a couple TDs vs the Bengals then ran and hid for a couple weeks, thereby welching on his bets.

I think you have to stay with Ramsey for now if he's healthy. Not if he THINKS he's healthy :). But, IF he is, you stick with him. Two fumbles and one interception in a little more than a quarter will get him benched if it doesn't tighten up, but, since he was given the job without having to win it, he should maintain it until he loses it on the field or takes it forever.
