Walking Deadman
It's fine to be concerned, but we won!!!!!!! Last year we would have lost this game.....period. Coles and Garner would have dropped balls, CP would have fumbled or Brunell/Ramsey would have mishandled a critical snap. Hall, Chandler or Kimrin would have missed a field goal. We won folks a big game we're 1-0, be happy-- yes there is ALOT of things to work on (especially enough of the WR screens!!!!) especially to get the Dallas monkey off our backs in Dallas but for now be happy. ChocolateCitySkin
Frankly, that was a terrible win (although the bears D looked great). However, if Clinton Portis plays as well for Ramsey as RB as he did for Mark Brunell then we should be in much better shape next week. --Side note: Our new receivers are awesome!!!! SlinginSammy HOF '63
what if this same scenario played out next week and we beat Dallas 9-7? Would the fanbase blow up like it did today?
frankbones
what if this same scenario played out next week and we beat Dallas 9-7? Would the fanbase blow up like it did today? Unless we scored a TD and a safety, I would be concerned about 0 TD's thru 2 games
Underwater Ally
I'm very happy to win. I just can't stand the fact that on Monday and Tuesday I'll have to read the mediots' moronic digs about the skins having no offense and a quarterback controversy. Next monday can't come soon enough. Yes. I am happy we won, but you know what? We won the opener last year too and our offense scored more points in the opener last year. I know CHI is a better D, but still cause for concern. SkinsNeverDie
We obviously have the ability to get the ball downfield...we are hurting ourselves and somehow keep finding ways not to get a TD...we always settle for the field goal. Oh yeah; why did Gibbs go for 3 today on that late game drive? Especially when we were "dominating" anyway.
Guest amaprius
4th and 1 early in the season at the goal line needing to establish yourself as a respectable team....Don't kick the field goal.....What is the worst that can happen?..... the home team takes over at the goal line and we get the ball in good position when we stop them 3 times in a row. Gibbs needs to be less conservative! I can not believe I am losing faith in Gibbs so much or yearning for Spurrier.
SkinsNatsFan
I'll take the ugly win. I'm glad I was at the game and supporting the team instead of on here reading all the nonsense.

The worst that could happen? Pretty simple. 7 - 6 loss, instead of a 9 - 7 win. I wanted them to go for it also, but that field goal turned out to be the difference in the game. I can not believe I am losing faith in Gibbs so much or yearning for Spurrier. He elected to kick the field goal and his team won by 2 points. Seems like a sound decision... If you think your defense is better than the other team's offense, take the 3 points and the lead. If the SKins got stuffed on 4th down at the goal line, who knows what would have happened... That would have been a huge momentum shift. Instead, the Skins take the lead, and put the game back in the hands of that defense. Get used to 9-7, 13-10, etc. -- They count the same as 28-24 and 31-28.
SlinginSammy HOF '63
I agree. When you're losing and a FG gives you the lead you take the points. Doesn't matter now. We won. Had we went for it and don't score then and lose the game 7-6 the whole world and incluing 98% of the fans would question why we didn't kick. Walking Deadman
Y'know I was another at the game that wanted the Skins to "go for it"....in retrospect, Gibbs made the right call even though it was a nail biter for the fans till the end. I guess we know why he's the 3 time SB winning HOF coach of the Redskins and why I'm just a big fan cheering for him and his players :notworthy
>>Spearhead>>
Its sad that if Ws are few and far between this year, all these doomsayers will have this ugly W to look back on and be happy about it. ITS WEEK ONE
