Hi all,

just got back from the game and wanted to give my views of everything happening at FedEx today. Before I chat about the game, here's some things that I noticed at the game.

1. Empty Seats: It's the season opener and yet there were a TON of empty seats at FedEx???? Yes, lots of empty seats...it looked bad folks like we were already 3-8 and waiting for the season to end. There are plenty of ESers and people on the waiting list DESPERATE for season tickets....what's the deal?

If you're not going to the game, sell them or heck donate them to charity or something.....jeeze

Plus, there were alot of empty, really sweet seats in my section (403).

2. Return of the Wave: I can see why it annoys people-- because people are more interested in jumping up than interacting/watching the game---- but the wave came back to FedEx starting in the upper bowl and also occuring in the lower bowl, it did occur at an opportune time and help fire up the crowd (4th quarter).

3. 12th Man:

Thank you Skins fans and ESers that got LOUD.....the fans actually helped the team with (my count) 4 false starts and 1 delay of game. On that 1 series the Bears got what 3 False Starts in a row.....we did that for our D. Be proud to be a Skins fan if you were at the game today. Plus, we fans supported Ramsey (despite the early struggles), I was proud of the crowd that got fired up after the Bears (from the stands it looked like an illegal hit) hurt Patrick.....I hope PR will be back next week.

4. Other fans-- why do Eagle, Giant and Cowboys fans come to games WHEN WE'RE NOT PLAYING YOU? ARE YOU THAT STUPID? They're not alone, I saw Mike Vick jerseys there too.....really, do you really feel that you need to spend 50-60 bucks (at least) to come to a Redskins game wearing a Shockey jersey when the Skins play the Bears? It's your money....the Redskins thank you.

The Game:

I won't say much, you've probably read everything I'm about to say but here it goes:

1. It was a Ugly game....just ugly and I'm happy we won. Probably wouldn't have last year. Bears are a very improved D and it showed early. Our O struggled early as did Ramsey.

Moss is a great pickup and was so worth the trade with Coles. Some of his catches would have been dropped by LC last year. Ramsey looks great in the shotgun and seemed to convert 3rd and long very easily when in the shotgun.

Portis is such a talent and can find gaps when they aren't there. Just need to get him, Betts, Moss, Patten and Cooley in the endzone more.

The O-line improved as the game went on and helped CP to get over 120 yds.

The D was again scary and except for TO's that put them in bad position, they played great. Marshall probably saved the game with the INT.

TO's are our biggest problem, that and scoring TD's.....we fix that and we continue to win.

Nice insight into your personal experience at the field, and you made some good points and observations as well.

The crowd sounded pretty loud even on tv to me despite empty seats. I loved the 3 false starts..it was a combination of the 12th man and the blitzes the skins were showing..you'd see LaVar come up, or ST or a corner, Marcus Washington etc and the bears line was shook!

But yes field goals wont get it done despite how great a level our D plays...WE HAVE TO SCORE TOUCHDOWNS! turnovers in the redzone are killers, penalities in the redzone are killers. I know it's no great epiphany or insight..but limit turnovers and score freakin touchdowns. Portis is great, the D is great..the Oline is getting beastly and got better as the game went on. and QB play...has it been said who will start next monday? I'm guess Ramsey if he is the teams starter this season.
